She was fidgeting in class. She wasn't even listening to Professor Flitwick drone on and on about the confundus charm. She already knew how that worked, and she had found several different ways to break that charm.

Someone kicked her chair. Her dark curtain of hair whirled around and her lidded eyes narrowed to brown slits on her face. Lucius was looking mouthing to her. "Tonight." He said. Bellatrix gave him a look that could have put a wart on gravestone, but she nodded her head in agreement.

"Would Miss Black like to describe the effects on the charm to the rest of the class?" Flitwick asked standing on several books to see over the tops of his seventh years. She slowly turned around to look at him. She despised answering questions in class. She pushed her hair behind her ears and cleared her throat.

"Professor I think if you ask Malfoy back there he can be more of a service." She said through clenched teeth. Flitwick looked as if he wanted to pressure her to answer the question, but he rather liked living so he moved on to someone else and dropped the matter. Her heavy lidded eyes dropped down to her desk and she went back to the task of burning her mark into her desk. This was her last year there wasn't must any of these mudblood lovers could do to her now. How much longer was it going to be? She raged in her mind, this was all for not, when she finally joined him they would cleanse this school of all the filth. She lost herself in the delicious daydream.

The jarring bell ripped her from her daydream. In a flash she slammed all over books and quills into her bag and jumped out of her chair. As she made her way to the door most of the other students jumped out of her way.

"Nice save Bella," Came a too cheery voice for the mood she was in.

She whipped around and faced the cocky Gryffindor seeker James Potter.

"Gee Potter did it take you and my filthy cousin to come up with that?" She glared between the two of them.

"No Bella, James here came up with that one all by himself." Sirius shot back giving her a smirk knowing this would infuriate her further. She gripped her wand so hard the skin on her knuckles burst open and dripped down her hand onto the floor. She bullied past then and burst into the hallway.

They would soon pay for speaking to her in that manner. They would all pay.

She flew down the corridor, students this way and that way dodging out of her way. Many of them had felt the rage of her wand if they found themselves stupid enough to be in her path. She was too excited to care about the rest of her classes, she made her way down to the Slytherin common room, the stone door swung open at her password and omitted her.

A few other students were in there, she spotted her sister Narcissa sitting by the fire. Her silvery wave of blond hair the only thing casting shadows on along the wall. She had her quill in her mouth and looked to be writing something. Probably a stupid love note to Malfoy, she guessed. She swooped down on the chair that was adjacent to hers and Bella sat down, staring straight into the.

"I am going to kill him." She stated as if that were the most natural thing a seventeen year old witch should be saying. Narcissa looked up from her parchment to look at her sister with her pale gray eyes.

"Sirius is bothering you again?" She asked and then regretting that flood of obscenities that was sure to flow from her sisters mouth, and sure enough Bellatrix flew into a rage.

"You would dare let that disgusting name flow from your mouth!" She screeched, "He will die by hands I swear it." Her chest was heaving and her eyes were wide open and wild.

"Alright, don't bit my head off Bella." Narcissa whined. "Did you see Lucius, he said he had something he wanted to tell you."

"Yes I saw him, we are in the same class Cissy. Honestly sometimes I think you aren't my sister you are so thick." Bellatrix retorted.

Cissy jumped out of her chair, her hair flowing behind her like an iced over pond. "When you drop the attitude I will be in my room." She shot back storming her way all the way back to her dorm room.

Bellatrix didn't even register that Cissy had left. Her sister would learn not to be so sensitive. She didn't have time to stroke her and caudle her. She was leaving soon and Narcissa had to learn to stand on her own. James and Sirius were always picking on her and she just took it. She whipped her wand over her head and brought it down with such force that a fireball erupted out of the end of it and flew into the wall and exploded. Someone screamed, but she didn't care, they wouldn't voice their displeasure in front on her. Not if they knew what was best for them.

The stone slab opened and Lucius entered, followed by Crabbe and Goyle. "What's with the attitude?" He demanded striding up to her. She rolled her eyes and stood up to face him. "You yelled at Cissy," She said standing taller, Bellatrix's presence seemed to dwarf any and everyone she came across.

"She is my sister before she is your wife Lucius. Remember that," She said her rage threatening to boil over. "I will speak to her in any matter that I see fit. If you wish to change that." She pulled her want out and stood in a dueling stance. "Then draw." She challenged, hoping he would, she needed the release.

He moved to accept her challenge when Crabbe placed a meaty hand on his shoulder to hold him back. His pinkie finger from the knuckle up was missing. Bella smiled at the hand.

"See, Crabbe remembers his lessons well." She said with a maniacal gleam in her eye. "You would do well Malfoy to take heed." She bounced on her feet from left to right taunting Malfoy to duel with her.

"Drop it Bella, just be ready tonight. We leave at 11." He informed her before throwing her a disgusted look and heading up to find Cissy and comfort her.

"Go run after your master." She spat at Crabbe and Goyle jerking her head toward the girl's dorms, they both jumped and raced after Lucius.

She rounded on the rest of the students in the common room. "If self preservation means anything to you you had better scatter before I sit down." She walked back over to her chair, and there was a flurry of activity behind her and everyone raced at breakneck speed to be as far from the common room as they could before her behind touched the fabric of that chair.

She slumped into the chair. The fire was just smoldering now, it had gone out during her rage. She didn't want to bother relighting it. She wanted the common room to match her mood. Dark and alone. A small smile flicker across her face as the thought of the adventure they were going to embark on tonight. Her aunt had almost burst with pride when she told her what she wanted to do. She warned Bella that he may not take a child, and Bella had wanted to curse her right there. She was a very skilled witch and often times she was mistaken for an adult.

She stared off into the fireplace and didn't know she had drifted off to sleep till someone dared touch her to wake her up. She snatched away from the contact and glared up at her sister. "It's time," Cissy whispered, her silvery hair hidden under her dark cloak. She handed Bellatrix her cloak and stood aside for her to rise and put it on. Bellatrix tossed the rest of the group a disgusted look.

"Where is Filtch?" She asked Nott, who jumped at being adressed directly by Bellatrix.

"He, hes, near the Ravenclaw room shouting at Peeves." He stammered.

"If you get you caught," She glared at all of them. "You go down alone. You mention one name and I won't hurt you I will find your brothers and sisters and hurt them. Understand?" Everyone but Cissy and Lucius nodded. She whipped her cloak around and they all left the common room. She led the group up into the main part of the school heading toward the door. She looked around the corner to make sure the coast was clear and she dashed out to the door, her wand made quick work of the simple locking charm. Professor Flitwick had told her the charm he used last week during a detention she had for shoving a first year down a flight of stairs. She raced toward the Whomping Willow not even turning around to see if anyone else was behind her. She heard rustling and assumed everyone else had made. She found the stick and prodded the knot on the tree so it would stop swinging. She ducked just in time and hit the knot square on.

"Hurry up, " she barked at them. She disappeared down the tunnel and led the way toward the Shrieking Shack. She was moving with a purpose and it was to see her dark master.

She beat everyone to the Shrieking Shack by a full five minutes. They weren't as devoted to him as she was. She was so nervous she killed a squirrel thinking it was an tag along. She paced around the Shack waiting for those stupid slackers to hurry up. They finally caught up with Bellatrix.

"If we keep him waiting for one minute I will torture all you till you beg me for the sweet relief of death." she raged ripping open the door to steal into the tiny village of Hogsmead toward the Hog's Head. The dirty little sign was swinging noiselessly above the door. Her heart was pounding in her chest, and her breathing was coming in short gasps. She was going to meet her master, she as going to see him in the flesh, not just hear about what he was doing through rumors and hearsay. She reached for the knob and suddenly couldn't do it. Would he think she was just a kid looking for kicks. Would he laugh in her face and then kill her for the fun of it.

"What is it?" Cissy asked coming up behind her sister and giving her a quizzical look. She had never seen her sister take a moment to think about anything.

"Nothing," She barked, causing Cissy to retreat into Lucius' arms. Bellatrix took a deep breath and pushed open the door to the Hog's Head. It was dark and not even a sliver of moonlight snuck into the room. She didn't care she strode into the room. The rest of them peered in and didn't move. She turned around. "What are you waiting for?" She demanded.

"Perhaps an engraved invitation." Came a soft hissing voice from one of the corners. Bellatrix spun around toward the voice, her wand drawn and pointing the direction. A small candle flared to life, and there he was.

The object of her devotion. The Dark Lord Voldemort.

Bellatrix stood stock still. There he was in all his glory. Lord Voldemort. Everyone else was still standing outside, and they were not coming in either. Bellatrix was alone, and most of them had fallen back when Voldemort had appeared. None of them had ever seen him before, they just heard rumors. Bella bowed her head in reverence when he stood up to address them.

"I must say the lack of trust is a bad start to this relationship. My presence was begged for and yet only one of you was willing to follow me into the dark." His red eyes landed on each of them one by one. Cissy couldn't stand those eyes, she shuddered and shrank back from him. "What is your name?" He demanded looking at Bellatrix.

She stood up tall and threw her shoulders back proudly. "Bellatrix from the house of Black," She announced with the utmost pride.

"Ah, yes a most pure wizard family." He told her fondly. Bella swelled with pride and almost shed a tear, "It seems you are the bravest of them all. I see four young boys who would let a woman younger than them take the lead." She turned and gave them all a dirty little look., she was in utter heave.

"Master I will follow you till my body takes its last breath and I will lead your followers into the very heart of any battle." She told him.

"How far will you go to please me?" He asked softly, walking around her and twirling his wand in his hands.

"To the ends of the earth, right into the pits of hell." She said savagely gripping her wand.

"Will you torture for me?"

"Yes."

"Will you endure pain for me?"

"If I could be so honored to endure anything in your name I will do it."

"Your sister Narcissa, bring her to me." He commanded. Bella looked up at him and her sister, she didn't hesitate for a second. She snatched her sister by the arm and flung her into the floor at Voldemort's feet.

Narcissa screamed as she was thrown into the floor, she tried to scramble away and Bellatrix blocked her path. Lucius moved to help her stand, "Do you want to suffer in her stead?" Voldemort questioned him. Lucius looked back at Cissy and gave her a pleading look and shrank back behind the others. Cissy couldn't stop the tears.

"The thing that makes people weak is there love." Voldemort spat like a boogey flavored Berti Bean. He looked down at Cissy who was whimpering on the floor, she threw her sister some pleading looks, but Bella wasn't paying her any attention. She had eyes for her Dark Lord only. "Do you love your sister?" He asked looking back down at Narcissa.

"Y-Yes," she blubbered. Bella eyes smoldered with rage that her sister could be so spineless.

"Do you love your sister?" He asked his eyes turning to Bellatrix. Bella looked shocked at the question, she had never once been asked if she loved someone. She had never said 'I love you' to anyone. Not even her mother. She stepped back a few paces and looked down at her sister. She did love her, in her own Bellatrix way, but how could she express it or not express it.

"No," She announced turning her face from her sister who looked completely crushed.

"Then a simple crucio curse wouldn't be out of the question." He asked with a grimace on his face that she supposed passed for his version of a smile.

"Bella please," Cissy pleaded looking up at her sister. She honestly didn't know if Bellatrix was going to preform an unforgivable curse on her, but of she were going to honest with herself she knew her sister was going to do it.

"Yes I think that will be in order," Voldemort said folding his thin arms across his chest and standing back to take in the display.

Bellatrix looked down at her sister, and something tugged at her heart. She blinked a few times, she had never felt that before. She looked at her sister and it happened again, something in the back of her mind pulled in her heart. Her wand hand shook a little bit, but Bellatrix's rage at herself for feeling emotions overrode her love for her sister.

"Crucio!" She shouted with so much force that the curse slammed Narcissa to the floor. Blood trickled down her face from where she hit the floor, she thrashed in pain. She pulled at her hair and clawed the floor. Her screams vibrated off the walls with such clarity that it chilled Lucius to his core, he stepped to Bella side and yanked her arm.

"Stop it!" He shouted as Crabbe and Goyle grabbed his arms and pulled him back.

"You would stop me?" She asked Lucius with a cold fury bubbling inside her. She moved to hit him with a little taste of what his girlfriend got when Voldemort held up his hand and Bella stopped in her tracks.

"I have seen all I need. The rest of you better hurry back to your beds before your mothers miss you," He spat out like it was a distasteful thing. Lucius rushed over and pick Cissy up off the ground, she was unconscious, and her body was soaked in sweat. He cradled her in his arms as they walked back outside and up toward the castle.

Bellatrix and Lord Voldemort were alone.

He was silent as he walked around and around and around Bellatrix, she stopped trying to follow him with her eyes, she was getting dizzy.

"How old are you?" He finally asked her sitting down in a high backed chair, and flicking his wand lazily at the door, shutting it with a snap.

"I am 16 my lord. I will be 17 in December." She said standing up tall as if to shake off her child like stature.

"Why do you want to serve me?" He usually never cared anything about whom he took into his inner circle. This child intrigued him. He didn't want to admit he was curious about her.

She looked over at him, she didn't dare look him in the eye out of respect. "Master, I want to serve you because the balance between wizards and muggle must be restored. We are mightier then those dogs. And only the purest of blood can rule this nation and guide us until the sun sets on this world. I want to serve you as you shape and mold us" she said passionately.

He considered her for a minute, he eyed her queenly.

"You have shown much courage and loyalty in coming here today." He finally said.

She was bursting with pride, her chest swelled even bigger than it already was. "Thank you master."

"Would it please you to serve me?" He asked sitting back down in the high backed chair that he first greeted her with.

She fell on her face at his feet, "Master it would mean more than life to me to serve you all the days of my life," She breathed her face buried on the hard floor of the Hog's Head. He looked down at her fondly, she was by far his best recruit. Maybe more so than the adults he had at his command. He stood up over her. He reached down at grabbed her left arm and rolled up the sleeve. She looked up at him to see what he was doing, she didn't expect him to touch her.

He placed his wand tip on her pale forearm. She yelped in pain and tried to pull her arm back at the burning black ink snaked its way across her arm. The ink formed into a black skull with a snake protruding from its mouth.

"This is your Dark Mark, reserved only for those that are my special servents." He whispered as he released her arm. She cradled in throbbing arm, "You will come to my side straight away when you feel it burn. When you have a need to alert me, you use this mark to call me. Do not call me lightly." He instructed his red eyes gleaming in the dark pub. "Scurry back to your bed." He told her. "I will call upon you." She bowed once more and then flew out the door. the cold air relieving some of the pain. She burst through the door of the Shrieking Shack and she was through the tunnel and back in front of the smoldering fireplace in Slytheirn in a matter of minutes. Her chest was heaving as she caught her breath.

She finally caught her breath and looked out into the fireplace, she looked down at her arm, and the usually smooth pale skin was red and swollen around the black tattoo. Her trembling fingers gently ran over the inflamed skin. She felt so close to the Dark Lord at that moment, she could feel his cold stare on right then and there.

She waved her wand over her arm and a bandage wrapped around her arm. A sinister smile spread across her face. The rumors about the mark were true, and she had one. Her fingers gently pressed on the bandage to ease some of the pain.

"Are you proud of yourself?" a cool voice asked coming down the stairs from the dorm rooms. Bella's head jerked around into the face of Severus Snape. Her lips curled into a snarl.

"What do you want?" She demanded pulling her robes down on her arm quickly.

"I heard what you did to Narcissa." He replied sitting down in the armchair and striking up the fire again "I will repeat my previous question, are you proud of yourself?" He stated plainly. Bella couldn't hate the hatred she had for Snape. He was an utter grease ball and that got picked on my Potter and the gang, and who spent all this time in the library and running after that mudblood Evans all day long. Even if he denied it Bellatrix had seen the way he looked at her.

"The Dark Lord said I was one of his most loyal followers even above all the adults. I will still hold my head high." she told him glaring at the flames dance across his hooked nose. Honestly is was big enough to host the next Quidditch Cup. "If Cissy got hurt in the process she will get over it."

"I find it funny that he made you audition when he welcomed me with open arms." She said with his oily voice. He rolled back the sleeve of his left arm to reveal his dark mark. "Solely in the strength of my reputation." He added, loving the look of pure loathing that was creeping across Bellatrix's face.

She jumped out of her chair with her wand draw aimed at Snape, he was just as quick out of his chair with his wand drawn, they were staring each other down. "Does he know you love a filthy mudblood!?" Bella raged.

"You will not call her that!" He shouted.
