Okay well here it is! Chapter Fourteen at last! This isn't a particularly hard chapter, I just couldn't find enough time to write! So here it is!

Chapter Fourteen: Do you think this is a game?

Kildara’s life started spinning out of control. She ended up in the hospital wing every other week, due to exhaustion and wounds she got from assignments. She had to bear the pain. Voldemort was happy with her and if she blew her cover, she didn’t like to think what he would do to her. She spent a week in the infirmary once, she was exhausted and she had scratches all over her from that stupid Fenrir Greyback. He decided he thought she looked like fun. Good thing Voldemort showed up or she wouldn’t be here right now. She had been throwing hexes at him but he seemed immune. In the end he threw away her wand. Now she was sitting on her bed in the hospital wing doing her homework. The nurse wouldn’t let her leave to go to classes and she wouldn’t let people visit her unless they were bringing her homework. After a week, Kildara was healed and perky again. Back to her old self. She had taken to stealing sleeping draughts from the hospital wing on her trips in there. It was the only way she could sleep. It was the fact she was getting to bed so later, sometimes at 4/5am. The things she had seen and done weren’t bothering her. Some people are haunted by their murders, she wasn’t.
She was still ahead of all her classes, which shocked everyone, including herself. It also angered a lot of people as they thought they would be able to overtake her in classes, but they didn’t. When she went back to Potions class after her week away, Professor Slughorn even gave her a hug to welcome his best student back in his class. Lucius was happy she was back as well. He wasn’t allowed to visit her and he missed her. He was the one that collected her from the hospital wing and took her back to the Common Room.

A week after she was released, Kildara and Lucius were sitting on the couch in the Slytherin Common Room, snuggling by the fire. She looked small and as though she was losing weight. Her voluptuous curves were diminishing and she had a sallow look to her. He just gathered it was to do with her being so exhausted. He looked down at her to see her staring into the fire.
“What’s going on in your head?” he asked, pulling her out of her daze.
She closed her eyes quickly before looking up at him. She smiled. “Nothing,” she laughed. “I’m just really tired, is all.”
He leaned down and kissed her on the top of the head and shook his head. “You don’t look very well. Maybe you should go back to the hospital wing? You look as though you haven’t been eating. Your losing weight dramatically.”
She sat really quickly and glared at him. “I am not going back to the hospital wing unless I have to. I hate in there. The stupid nurse is horrible. She doesn’t like me very much. And I’m eating, you know I am. I don’t feel like losing weight. Okay so my clothes are a little looser than before but does that really matter?” she snarled.
He looked at her, his eyes wide in shock. He sat up and pulled her back into his arms. She was going around the twist. She really wasn’t well. He rubbed her arm and she pulled her arm away with a yelp of pain. He looked at her with a curious expression on his face. She saw him looking at her and she smiled and lay back down on his shoulder.
“What was that about?” he asked.
“Nothing, my arms are still a little sore from the wounds the nurse couldn’t heal properly. It’s fine dear.” she said leaning up and kissing him on the cheek.
He resigned himself to not asking anymore questions and just enjoyed sitting there with her, with no interruptions.

Over the next few weeks, Kildara’s condition got worse. She look waifish and she had stopped sleeping all together. She had even stopped eating as much. One day in Transfiguration, she fainted. She was rushed to the hospital wing and the nurse force fed her and gave a potion to wake her up. Her eyes flew open and she took a great intake of breath. Everyone around her breath a collective sigh of relief. She looked around, weak and tired, at the people standing around her. The troupe and quite a few others were standing around the bed. It looked as though her entire Transfiguration class had followed.
“Where is she? What happened?” Came a big booming voice through the crowd. Professor Slughorn pushed his way through the group and stopped by her bedside. He looked down at her, a sympathetic, concerned smile on his face. “My dear what happened?”
She shook her head. “Professor Slughorn. I don’t know. One minute I was okay, then I was in here. I don’t know.”
Slughorn put a hand on her shoulder and smiled. “Just get better my dear. I can’t have my best student missing from my class anymore. I must go. I have a class to teach.” He patted Kildara on the shoulder before turning to all the students in the hospital wing. “Shouldn’t you all be in class?” he growled.
The students looked at each other and scuttled from the room, leaving the troupe alone. The nurse bustled back in. “You would think this was a circus not a hospital wing.” she hissed. She looked at Kildara and then at the troupe standing around her. “Okay now. Miss Snape needs rest. Out, out.” she said, bustling them out. Lucius managed to detach himself from the group and stood to the side. The Nurse glowered at him, then said, “Okay Mr Malfoy, you may stay. But the rest of you, out!”
Lucius walked back over to Kildara’s bed and sat in the chair next to it. He looked up at her frail, waifish frame and sighed. “You told me you were okay. You told me not to worry. You told me you would be alright. And now look at you. Back in the hospital wing, worse than you’ve ever been. You look even worse now than you did on the holidays.” he growled.
She rolled onto her side and looked at him. She reached over and took one of his hands in hers. “I’ll be fine. Just a lapse in concentration is all.”
“Concentration? Why are you treating me like a child? Concentration? You are acting like my mother. Hiding things from me! Kildara I won’t let you do this to yourself.” Lucius yelled.

Kildara’s eyes flashed. He was yelling at her. She sat up, strength returning to her as anger coursed through her thin body. “A child? If you want me to treat you like a child I will! Lucius I am not asking you to look after me! I hide things from everyone! Don’t think you are so special. Now you are acting like a child,” she yelled back.
“Me? Acting like a child. Bring it then! Your being stupid!” Lucius yelled, standing up.
Kildara got up off the bed and drew herself up to her full 5’10”. She was almost as tall as Lucius, and he cowered. “Bring it? Do you think this is a game? This is pulling me apart. And all you care about is if you are treated like a child. I will if that is what you want. Or go and run off to dear Narcissa. She will worship you and the multitudes of gold in the Malfoy vault. I don’t care. You are being stupid. I am risking my life for what I believe in and you are sitting pretty and safe in the castle. I am sick of it,” she growled.
He backed away from her and then walked from the room. She collapsed back down on the bed and burst into tears. No sooner had the door to the hospital wing slammed as Lucius threw it closed in a rage, did it open again. Severus burst through the door and ran to his sister’s bed. He sat on the edge of the bed and pulled his older sister into his arms. He seemed to be doing this a lot this year. Kildara stopped crying and looked up at him.
“Hi Sev” she said, smiling softly.
He looked a her and noticed how weak she looked. She looked worse than she did on the holidays.
“Hey. How are you?” he asked.
“I’m alright.” she answered.
“Why were you crying?” he asked, concerned.
“Oh nothing. Just Lucius. It’s fine.” she said, a brave smile on her face.
Severus eyed her with concern but didn’t push the matter. “Why are you so sick all the time?”
“I’m just tired. Sixth year is catching up on me. I’ve only got one year left before my NEWTs and it’s exhausting is all.”
Severus raised an eyebrow but again did not push the subject. “You’ll be out soon though right?” he asked concerned.
“Yeah. I’m going to speak to the Nurse. Maybe I’ll be out today. I can’t miss out on anymore class. Talking about that, why aren’t you in class?”
“I got special clearance to be here. I had Potions. Slughorn said I could come and see you.”
Kildara laughed. “Alright then. But you can go back to class now. I’ve got to speak to the nurse. Okay?”
Severus nodded his head. He gave Kildara a kiss on the forehead and walked out of the infirmary. When the door had clicked close, the nurse bustled out of her office and over to Kildara.
“Popular are you? I don’t see why. Don’t seem to me as the person that’s particularly nice to people.” she said, a sly smile on her face.
Kildara’s mouth dropped open. “You are supposed to make people feel better, not worse. People want to be me, for your information. The entire Slytherin house would love to be in my shoes. How dare you.” Kildara hissed venomously.
The nurse stepped back slightly. “Well Miss Snape, as soon as you can eat again, you can leave.”
“Fine then, I’m leaving now. I can eat. I’m going straight down to the Great Hall for lunch! Good day to you.” she said before racing out of the Hospital Wing, not stopping until she reached the Great Hall. She walked slowly into the Hall and sat down at the Slytherin Table next to Narcissa, across from Lucius, both of whom looked shocked at her decision. She smiled happily at Narcissa and ignored Lucius, only acknowledging he was there long enough to ask him to pass the salt.
