Chapter Thirteen: Summer

The next few months went by quickly until finally it was the end of the school year.
“It feels weird going home, doesn’t it?” said Meg as she was packing in the Girls Dormitory.
“I’m really excited about going home,” said Keely, “I miss my brother. Maybe you guys could come over for the summer sometime.”
“That sounds great, I’m sure my parents will be okay with that.” said Lily, “It’d be better than hanging around with my sister all the time. She thinks that I’m a freak now that we know that I’m a witch.”
“She’s probably just jealous.” said Keely, “I bet there are a lot of families that wish that they were like us.”
“My cousin sure does,” said Meg, “I’m half-blood and I have a Muggle cousin who is completely jealous of me. She wants to be a witch so she could make all her problems easier, like that could happen. Being a witch is hard work, isn’t it?”
“You said it.” said Lily, “But I got to say, it was pretty fun here, wasn’t it? I can’t wait ‘til next year.”

~Meanwhile, in the Boys Dormitory. ~

“I’m not looking forward to going to my aunt’s house.” said Remus, packing up his clothes, “It’s just not the same.”
“It’s a lot better than what you had to deal with before, isn’t it?” said James, “At least over there, you can’t get hit.”
“Well, when I’m at my aunts, I can barely see my mother anymore because she’s so busy cleaning up after my step-dad and his friends at my house.”
“I still don’t get why she doesn’t just leave the guy.” said Sirius.
“He has ways of finding the people he’s looking for.” Said Remus, “We don’t know how, but he always does.”
“You don’t think that maybe…” said Peter, but he cut short on his sentence.
“That maybe what?” asked Remus
“You know that wizard who everyone here fears now, Lord Voldemort?”
“Yeah…” said Remus, guessing where this was going.
“Well, maybe your dad might be one of his followers,”
“I don’t think that’s possible, Pete.” said Remus, “My step-dad may be evil, but he can’t be THAT evil.”
During the rest of the afternoon, the boys and girls packed up all of their belongings and left for dinner in the Great Hall.

“Mia’s relay excited about me coming home.” said James, “But I bet she’s even more excited about her first day for Hogwarts next year.”
“I can’t wait to meet her.” said Lily
“Well, you lot can come any time you want during the summer.” said James.
“Hey, maybe you and Lils could put on a little lip on lip action.” said Keely, laughing, she, Sirius, Meg, Remus, and Peter started to laugh while James and Lily glared at them.

*applaud*applaud* ...is that the end,?

nope, I'm planning to have this story go on 'til James and Lily (and a couple of other characters, but I won't say who) are killed

Summer Part 2

During the first weeks of July, the boys and girls stayed with their families until Keely used a muggle phone to call Remus during the evening of July 31st about her mother.
“Remus?” cried Keely, tears running down her face.
“Keely?” asked Remus, “What’s wrong?”
“My mother and my brother just had a really bad fight and she left with a suitcase. Remus, I don't think she's coming back this time.” And after that she started to cry harder.
“It’s going to be OK, Keels.” Said Remus, reassuringly, ‘I'll come over first thing tomorrow. And so will the others. Just stay on the phone with me until you fall asleep.”

The next day, Remus told James, Sirius, Peter, Lily, and Meg about what happened to Keely while Remu’s aunt Sarah drove them to Keely’s house.
“How could she leave them like that?” asked Lily
“I don’t know, but Keely mentioned that it had happened before.” said Remus.
“Does she even have a dad?” asked James.
“No, from what Keely told me when we were younger, he dad left her mum when Keely was born. It was just her, her mom and her brother.”
“What’s going to happen to them?” asked Peter
“If Keely’s mother doesn’t come back, Keely’s brother will be able to take care of her. Her brother has to be about eighteen or nineteen by now.” said Sarah, “We’re here,” she added as she stopped in front of a blue house, “I’ll be by to pick you lot up by seven o’clock, okay?”
“Thanks, Aunt Sarah.” said Remus when he and the group got out of the van and ran up to the house. Remus was the first to reach the front porch and knock on the door. It opened and Keely came outside, her eyes puffy from crying so much.
“Oh Keely, I’m so sorry.” said Lily as she and Meg hugged Keely.
“I just can’t believe she just left without saying good bye.” said Keely.
“She’ll probably be back soon.” said James.
“You don’t understand, she called earlier and said that she was staying with her boyfriend.”
“So?” asked Sirius
“I didn’t even know she had a boyfriend!” said Keely, “And neither did Josh! She even said that she was coming by for the rest of her things.” she started to cry again and Lily hugged her again to comfort her.

Summer Part 3

"I just don't understand why she'd leave." said Keely, holding a handkerchief in her hand. She, James, Sirius, Lily, Peter, Meg, and Remus were in her bedroom. Keely, Meg, Remus, and Lily were sitting on the bed while the others were trying not to distract themselves by looking at all of Keely's muggle items.
"I can't even understand why dad left!" said Keely, "So my mom is a witch so what?"
"He must've been scared," said James, "A lot of half-blood's parents are separated because the Muggle parent can be afraid of magic."
"But from what Josh said, my dad didn't seem afraid about having any kids that could perform magic. That doesn't make any-" she cut off when the sound of a door opening and closing came from downstairs.
"That's probably my mum." said Keely, getting off the bed, "You guys should probably wait here." she left her bedroom, closing her door behind her with a snap!
"Hope she'll be okay." said Peter
"She'll probably be fine," said James, "Her mum will probably apologize and move back in."
But he was wrong; twenty minutes after Keely left to talk to her mother, she came back into the bedroom in tears, crying uncontrollably.
"Keely, what happened?" said Lily, alarmed.
"My mother told me why she's leaving." cried Keely, sitting on her bed, "She said that I was a mistake, that my dad made her have me, and that she never wanted me. When she found out that she was pregnant with me, she wanted to get an abortion but my dad forced her to have me. By the time my dad left, it was too late for her to have one. She only wanted Josh but she couldn't just take him and abandon me so she decided to wait until Josh graduated from Hogwarts to leave us." Keely couldn't say anymore so she started to cry silently into her hands while Remus gave her a hug to comfort her.

note: This is turning out to be more of a drama than a comedy, but at the same time it is still quite interesting to read.

That's how I make my stories actually. To me, it's kinda like cooking; you put a splash of comedy, with a little bit of romance, and just a pinch of drama. But there will be some comedy soon, just so you guys know. I'm glad you're enjoying my story
