Hello, I'm Thomas, and this is my first fan fiction. I hope you all enjoy it. I would also like to say thanks to the many people that write these fan fictions as it is no easy buisseness. And so we go.


Chapter 1: The Speech


I’ve had enough trouble for a lifetime... Harry was lying on his four poster bed in his dormitory, it was

early in the morning (the sun was hardly up) and he could still hear everyone cheering in the basement.

He knew that it wouldn’t last long. Soon it would be time for them all to mourn over the many casualties.

Harry sighed. They had lost so many the previous night, but at the same time gained so much. He stared

over at the half eaten sandwich on his bedside table when he heard a knock at the door. A pretty, red

haired girl stepped into the room looking tired.

“I thought you would be awake,” she said. Harry felt her lips gently brush against his feeling what he

wished he could have felt many times over the previous months.

“Hello Ginny. How are you this morning?” Harry stated as he sat up leaving room for Ginny to sit on

the end of the bed.

“I wish I could answer to that,” she replied quietly. Harry knew exactly what she meant. He had been

feeling the same way ever since he had disposed of the elder wand. Euphoria from knowing that HE was

finally gone. At the same time he felt aggrieved knowing that so many of the people closest to him had

died in the battle to protect him. He knew that he must go down to the great hall and make a speech,

which he figured was why Ginny was here in the first place.


“Are you sure you’re ready for this?” she asked reading his mind.

“I’ll never be ready, but you know as much as I do that it must be done.” With that he silently got up

and walked back downstairs with Ginny thinking over what he had to say. As he entered the hall people

all around cheered. He didn’t acknowledge this as he walked towards the center of the table where he

had seen Dumbledore make speeches so many times before. As he stood up all eyes went to him, all talk

went quiet.

“We stand here today, with a sense of accomplishment knowing that Voldemort is gone. You should

have no fear of the name anymore, for this time he is gone for good. Yes we should cheer for we have

done what many have dreamed of, but at the same time we must mourn, for we lost many brave people,

all of whom I would recognize as many of my dearest friends. As we attempt to go back to our normal

lives, we should make sure we remember how bravely many people fought to bring us to this day, for

without them, there would be no life. So now I leave you with one last message,” as he stopped

everything was quiet, “Love.”

just so everyone knows, that was more of a prelude into the actual story. I hope to get the next chapter up within the week .

Here it is everyone. I was sick today, and therefore had the day to finish working on this, so know that I'm here I leave you with chapter 2. Voila.

Chapter 2: The Funeral Of Remus Lupin

It was a full week since that speech had ended, and now Harry sat eating breakfast in the burrow.

“Pass the eggs,” Ron asked him gloomily. As Harry had predicted, the euphoria of Voldemort’s death had

ended to be replaced with a sense of gloom in everyone. Harry wasn’t sure what he should do. He had

never been more confused in his life [and with a life like his THAT is saying something]. Today was an

even sadder day. He had to go mourn over one of his closest friends. He couldn’t believe that Remus was

dead. He knew it was true, yet still he wanted to hope that his death was all just a bad nightmare.

“We better get going now if we want to be on time,” Mrs. Weasley stated sadly.

“May I have a word with you Harry,” a voice said. It was Mr. Weasley. Harry went over to talk to him

wondering what he wanted.

“You do know that you can stay with us for as long as you want?” Mr. Weasley asked. He meant it too.

Harry was glad he had been asked this finally. The Burrow was one of the few places the Harry had ever

loved to be.

“Are you sure?” Harry asked in reply, only for the sake of being polite, “you don’t have to do this you

know.”

“After all you’ve done for our family? Of course I have to do this, you ARE part of our family. Besides,

where else would you go?” He finished determined.

“Thank you Mr. Weasley, you have no idea how greatful I am for this. We better get going though, Mrs.

Weasley is right, we don’t want to be late,” and with that him and Arthur walked out the door towards

the ministry car that was waiting to take them. Harry sat down in the roomy backseat beside Ginny, who

was silent. She reached for his hand. He let her take it, knowing that it would make him feel better, the

soft feel of her skin on his. The car drove away amid the morning dew. It was quite a beautiful day

outside, on any other day, chances are they would be playing quiditch in the orchard. They sat in the

car silently for the next hour. It was a fairly short drive to the funeral, but under the circumstances it

seemed much longer. As they stepped out of the car, Harry remembered the day before. It had been

Tonks’ funeral at this very place. Ginny stepped out of the car still holding Harry’s hand. It still gave him

a sense of comfort and he never wanted her to leave his side. They stepped towards where the

procession would be taking place. Andromeda Tonks came up to Harry with a small baby with purple hair

in her hands.

“Hello Teddy,”Harry said softly taking the baby from her. “You look so much like your father. Except for

your hair. That’s...definitely your mother’s. They were both very brave people and you should be very

proud of what they did.” Harry felt as if he was talking more to himself than he was the baby, but he

didn’t care. “And how are you today Andromeda?” Harry asked.

“Very well considering...” she spoke softly her voice cracking. Molly came up and comforted her as the

funeral was about to begin.

With Teddy in one arm, and Ginny in the other, Harry watched as the casket of his good friend Remus

Lupin was carried in. Ginny was crying. This was one of the few times Harry had seen this very tough girl

cry, but he didn’t say anything. They watched as the funeral went on. Harry finally had a sense of

closure, knowing that he wouldn’t be coming back. All four of the Marauders had finally come to rest.

Harry felt a sense of disappointment for Teddy, knowing that he would face a similar fate as his own. But

that wasn’t true. Teddy had a loving grandmother, and of course a caring godfather [that being himself].

But Teddy’s life still wouldn’t be exactly a normal one, and Harry knew this. He watched the body lower

into the ground. Somehow his sorrows seemed to be buried along with the body.

update : the next chapter won't be up for a while. This is due to the fact that I have a school project that I have to do. Give it a week or so and it should be back.

One More Update - Due to the fact that i have virtually NO homework this weekend, I hope to have it up by later today, or tomorrow.

And now it is here! i thought I would leave a little...suspense with this.

Chapter 3: Part 1: Beggining Again


The next day, The Burrow already seemed a much cheerier place, even so much earlier in the morning,

though the sense of loss still loomed. George was staying at the burrow. He was extremely depressed at

the loss of his twin. Harry knew that he shouldn’t bother him about it, but at the same time he should

comfort him. As he lay in bed he was thinking it all through when there was a knock at the door.

Hermione Granger entered the room in her traveling robes.

“Hello Hermione,” Harry said sleepily, still half asleep. He knew what she was here for, but he

figured he would let her tell him herself.

“Hello Harry,” she said calmly, “I’m leaving to Australia today with Ron, as you probably already

know. I haven’t seen my parents in so long now, I really think I need to find them as soon as possible. I

thought I would just come in and say good bye.”

“I’m certain that you’ll be fine. You’re a great witch, and Ron’s a great wizard.”

“Thanks Harry, anyways, Ron’s waiting outside. He told me to say goodbye for him.”

“Good luck finding your parents,” Harry said as Hermione walked out his bedroom door. This left

him with something to think about. He needed to talk with Ginny, and he knew that now was the perfect

time. He walked out of his own room (it was very early in the morning), and quietly made his way into

Ginny’s room. He walked in and she was laying in bed with her eyes open, as if she was expecting Harry

was going to come.

“Good Morning,” she said with a slight smile sitting up. Harry took a seat on the end of her bed.

“There’s something I need to talk to you about,” Harry said. He’d carefully thought it through

the night before. “I think that Mcgonagall is going to ask everyone to redo last year’s schooling.

Hopefully after that we can all get our lives back on track.”

“Everything will be set back a year. In a few years it will all pay off though. Anyways, how

does this affect us?”...

oops, i just realized that. What happened is that i typed it on wordperfect before posting it, and then when i paste it onto here it messes it all up. No I don't think this is an anoying post, and i will try to fix it up a bit, and if i do need any further help from there, i will ask.

The next post is going to [probably] be the same length as that post (sorry) , this is only because its a two part chapter. The post after that (chapter 4) should be longer than those two posts put together (fingers crossed)

Secondly I would like to apoligize for making you wait for this. I was kind of caught up with other things in life and didn't get the chance to ever finish editting it. Chapter 3: Part 2: Beggining Again

An hour later, the two of them walked downstairs to grab some breakfast.

Ginny looked a little sad, but at the same time she looked like she was

happy. Harry looked...well...like Harry. Mrs. Weasley noticed Ginny looked

different, but she just assumed it was from the depressing day before. “What

would you kids like for breakfast?” she asked politely while making the bacon.

“Apparently we’ll be having bacon,” Ginny said with a slight smile.

“Yes, of course, but what would you like WITH the bacon?” asked

Mrs. Weasley once again this time with a smile herself. Ginny looked ready to

retaliate with some sly remark, but Harry decided he better say something

before she got the chance.

“How about eggs?” was all he could think of saying. Of course,

bacon and eggs were a tradition together. Ginny looked at him appearing

almost angry that she didn’t get to retaliate before they both burst out

laughing. Mrs. Weasley joined them.

“What’s so funny?” asked a voice from the stairs. They all

immediately stopped laughing. George took a seat on the other side of Harry.

Harry couldn’t get used to seeing George like this. He looked so...gloomy

when he wasn’t accompanied by his twin. “Good morning Harry,” he said with

a slight smile. Everyone stopped breathing in surprise. None of them had

seen George smile in weeks.

“Good Morning George,” Harry said trying to disguise his happiness

that George was starting to cheer up. George noticed this and smiled himself.

“Can I talk to you upstairs Harry?” George asked politely a few

minutes later after they had all finished eating.

“Of course,” said Harry shortly. He quickly followed George up the

stairs. George led them into his and Fred’s old room.

“Harry,” George started. “All you children are going to be going

back to school this year probably. With Fred gone, I’m going to need help

reopening the shop. Seeing as you’re already kind of part of it, I figured that

you could come in on the weekends to help set up.”

“You dragged me all the way up here for that?” Harry said with a

grin,”Of course I’ll help! All you needed to say was ‘Harry help me at the

store’ and I would of been there.” To Harry’s great surprise George let out a

laugh. This was the first true laugh he had let out in weeks. Things were

truly beggining again.

aww that's happy. George isn't gloomy anymore he's more like George!
