You have to admitt - a large part of Harry and Ron's success with the Horcrux hunt was due to Hermione's planning. But just how much of it was due to Hermione? Discuss your ideas and theories here.

I was so sure that Hermione would be the one who found out who RAB was. I was so sure!

| Brownie Protector I think that if it wasn't for Hermione, they would have never been able to pull it off. Harry and Ron are both are common sense smart, but not book smart. and that's where Hermione steps in. She kept everything organized. They never would have done it had it not been for her. |

THat probably was it, but still.... I think Hermione's real thing with the Horcrux was the diary. I mean, we don't know what happened with she and Ron went to the Chamber of Secrects so we can't say anything about that

She provides a nice contrast to Harry who operates on instinct and stays within his comfort zone (albeit tried and true, how many times has this boy cast expelliarmus and expecto patronum???) Hermione, on the other hand, was the character responsible for introducing a bunch of new spells to the boys (and to us!), especially in the 7th book. We see her knowledge of spells, history, etc. saving their butts time after time. She is an amazing character and a perfect ally for Harry.

Totally agree with you there Tiff! All three of them were necessary for completing the Horcrux hunt in their own way. Hermione's responsibility seemed to lie within using her book knowledge to help them, since the two boys were clueless when it came to the books.
They each have their own strengths, which really shone in the 7th book. We especially see this in Hermione with how many times she used new spells and enchantments for the first time for their safety. Very risky of her to use them, but yet they worked. I guess being book smart is worth something if you are able to apply it in the real world, which Hermione proved very well. |

Yeah, Hermione [I think] real role lied within book knowledge. She is the one who really knew that would happened, according to the books

I agree with lemondrop13, they all had their own roles, but I feel like Hermione's was most important, because she stuck by Harry, even when things got REALLY hard, don't get me wrong, I looove Ron, but he did leave, even if it wasn't his fault necessarily that he left, and she pulled Harry out of MANY bad situations!!! He woke up A LOT with Hermione standing over him, because she just saved him from whatever it was. There were some points where she kind of got in the way, and was too logical (I know, I am definately NOT one to talk about being too logical) and tried to think things out too much (also NOT one to talk about that), but she was ALWAYS there for Harry.

I think Harry and Ron would be lost without her. They'd be in their eighties and still looking. She sort of figured out half of it all by herself. And she played a very important part in DH, I'd say equally as important as Harry.

I really feel that Hermione played a key role in the finding of the horcruxes. Without her brains and ingenuity I don't think Harry and Ron would have been able to figure things out. Hermione was most defniitely needed there and may have played the most important part in all of that (probably!)

Gabriella (Gabs)Hanan Granger Department of Mysteries | I truly agree.Without Hermione's accurate planning and use of intelligence,They would never have destroyed the horcruxes. Also when Ron quarreled with him and left the place,Harry's bggest support was Hermione. So I think Hermione played a very vital role in the Horcrux hunt.
