Hermione Discussion #10: Epilogue

We all know what happened ninteen years after Harry defeated Voldemort thanks to JK Rowling in the Deathly Hallows but what happened in that extremely long gap in the epilogue is the question. What do you think happened to Hermione during the time period between the end of Voldemort and the epilogue, ninteen years later?

Here is a long list of what {I think} happened

1. After the Battle, Ron and Hermione started to date. I mean, after that kiss that they had they had to have gotten together.
2. They probably dated for about two years and then got married.
3. Then they had kids.
4. I think that Hermione became either an Ministry person (you know working for the min.) or she's a stay at home mother. I'm leaning toward the latter.

What do you all have tosay about this?

I loved Hermione in the epilogue. I thought she'd end up a Hogwarts teacher, but I guess now. I loved how we sorta got the feel that Ron had rubbed off on her in the epilogue. She seemed really happy. I bet she grew up and got a job at the ministry, a stay at home mom, or something involving books.

Well, obviously she got married to Ron (huge mistake in my book).
After that she popped out a couple of kids, spent a lot of time with Harry and Ginny.
And, of course, read.

J.K.Rowling has said in a post-DH interview that Hermione got a job fairly high up in the Magical Law Enforcement Dept of the Ministry. Apparently, Hermione, Ron, and Harry revamped the whole ministry...which needed to be done. So, that's my guess as to what they were doing during that 19 year time; besides marriage and kids

I could actually see Hermione eventually working her way up to becoming Minister of Magic.

I really don't think that Hermione would be a stay at home mother....I really envision her working in the ministry, I think Joe said some thing about it some where........
or maybe I made that up, or dreamed about it....
the world may never know.

She probably is working at the Ministry, but I kinda always thought that she would go back to Hogwarts to teach

I don't really see Hermione as the stay-at-home mom type person either. She is one for change, and making things happen... if anything, she'd bring her kids to her job site.

Well in the podcasted interview of JKR, she said Hermione finsihed up school, and that she couldn't have put in the in Epilogue cuz that would be too much.

in an interview it was said that Hermione and harry ended up working in the ministry of magic, and ron helped george in the joke shop. i wish J.K. would write another book saying what happened to everyone after the war, like a really looooooooooooong epilogue

really? In the Podcast done by the Leaky Caldrun with JKR she said that Hermione went to finsih her last year of school and that harry and Ron went stight in the MInistry

That's great. I kinda imagined Hermione working in the ministry. So in those 19 years, she was probly working up to that position.

Besides marrying Ron and having the two kids, I definitely think she stayed active. Working in a high level capacity for the Ministry sounds like something she would do, and who knows how far she could have risen? With her brains, the sky truly is the limit.

After the Battle at Hogwarts, Hermione goes back to Hogwarts to complete her seventh year while Harry and Ron join Knigsley's Ministry. Hermione graduates from Hogwarts and works in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement ensuring the eradication of oppressive pro-pureblood laws. She marries Ron Bilius Weasley and has two children Rose and Hugo.

Hermione completes her studies and graduates from Hogwarts.Then she takes up employment in the department of magical law enforcement.After that,she marries Ron.

Agreed, a really long epilogue would be nice. I believe Hermione finished schooling and got a job at the ministry fighting for the rights of house elves and trying to change the world for the better.
