Hermione Discussion #1: Romance


Throughout the Potter series there have been some interesting couples but the real question we all want to know is, who Hermione will hook up with in the end. Post who you think she'll get together with and why. All ships are welcomed.

Harry: Because they have an awful lot in common and don't bicker. Hermione is the only one who will calm him down and the one who Cho is jealous of in the fifth book because of her closeness to Harry. They protected each other in POA and OoTP, and though Harry would do it for anyone, J.K. specifically wrote it was Hermione. Hermione was who was worried about him in GOF. In the first book, Harry probably was the one who worried about her in the girls' bathroom more than Ron. They're completely meant to be together, and Hermione doesn't love Ron! But I still think she would like Ron, but not forever.

Although it looks like JK is leaning towards putting Hermione and Ron together, I wonder about his ability to keep his insecurities under enough control for Hermione's liking. They could really end up getting in the way of a long term relationship. The one i feel she really fits is Harry, but then Harry is in love with Ginny right now, and they look to have a decent relationship going, so, there is a lot that can happen in Book 7 that could effect the outcome of relationships. Ginny (Rowling forbid!) could be killed, opening the way for Hermione and Harry, or somehow they just grow apart, but I think Harry and Hermione, once Voldy's out of the way, will finally see what has always been lurking within them and get together in the end.

Generally in books very similar to Harry Potter, people who fight all the time...have feelings towards each other. Really, at the momment Hermione's attack on Ron during the Won-Won stage confirms this- at least for Hermione. Also Hermione has been helping Ginny out in the last 2-3 years to get Harry's attention which I believe she would not comprimise for herself. At the momment I believe that Hermione and Ron should be together as I have from the time I read book 4 and maybe even earlier. Later on maybe Hermione's interests may change but now it is Ron at the way

I think that Hermione will, and should go with Ron at the end. They had an awful lot of fights, and ended up being great friends again at the apologies. In this website, some of the writers who writes stories write Romance stories. When it is about Hermione, Ron is the one who protects her mostly. When it is about Ron, Hermione is the one who protects him mostly. I think they're soulmates, kind of like that. Overall, I agree with Linda Hagrid.

We all know that Hermione is most likely to end up with Ron, opposites attract. But it's still fun to mess around with ships, as long as we don't get nasty about it. Like right now, I'm into D/Hr. haha I think it' so cute <33

Haha Definitly Ron. They've liked each other since forever! And in books 6, the kinda got together.

I dunno, I've always loved Ron and Hermione. There is just something there that Hermione and Harry don't have. Yeah they love each other, platonically, and they care for each other. But than agian all friends do, regardless of boy-girl, girl-girl, boy-boy. I think all three of the trio would care very much if one of them would die or be in danger. Wouldn't you be worried if your friend was in a bathroom and a mountain troll was heading to said bathroom and might hurt your friend...you'd probably be worried too. There is no fire between Harry and Hermione. They have small arguments that usually don't last long and the long ones they did have Ron was always caught in the middle helping Harry's anger. But Ron and Hermione...they are confused and angry because they have feelings for each other that scare them to death. And what better way to try and hide those feelings by arguing and trying to be mad at the other? They have, with lack of a better word, "passion" (*giggles* sounds so silly...) building up inside of them and both are to scared to show it any other way than arguing. You can't really blame them though, they are teenagers and confusion is a given.
Hermione needs someone who can match her wit. And I believe that that person is Ron. Oh he might not be book smart or even very much school smart. But he can turn a pretty witty phrase during a fight, and that sends Hermione's blood going and it makes her think. Which is one thing we all can agree on that she loves.
Hermione also tries and boost Ron's self-esteem, which is usually very low. She helped him make the quidditch team because she knew he could do it, he was just to nervous and doubted himself so much that he need help. Like when she said she was not going to let them copy her homework and she was talking with Harry and Ron, it was Ron's determination that caused Hermione to break down and help him...because she couldn't help herself. She helps him fix his ruined essay and after a particulary (sp?) long day Ron's prescences as he walks into the Great Hall is what makes her feel better.
They both get jealous when the other is dating someone else. And Ron even admited that he only dated Lavender for snogging...and possibly to make Hermy jealous?
People always fall for those you don't expect. And I think at the beginning everyone expected hermy to fall for Harry. And visa versa. But even in the first book JK shows us how Hermione notices Ron more than Harry. Yeah she is intriguied with the boy she had read about. But remember how she intentionally came back to tell Ron he had dirt on his nose...just so she could see him agian. Why didn't she tell him while she was sitting in the compartment with them? Maybe I'm trying to get a little to romantic here...but I dunno.
People are usually attracted to someone they don't completly understand but want to. And Hermione and Ron def. don't understand each other but I think they are willing to try and figure it out.

Well, I am a HUGE Draco Malfoy/Hermione Granger shipper, but that would probably NEVER happen. But it might, because I read in a JKR interview that a witch we'd least expect would go bad. It could be Hermione. She could fall in love with Draco and go to the dark side. But as much as I wish it would, I dont think that is going to happen.


I think Ron and Hermione will get together in the last book. My friend seems to think they'll get married! But I just think they will really get together.

Ron! I think there are signs in the 6th book that Hermione likes Ron. Like when Ron is going out with Lavender Hermione is jealous beyond belief. Hermione and Ron are soul mates!

I always like her with Harry because it seems right, Hero with Heroine. But if Harry is with Ginny then it does seem to pint to hemrione and Ron, though I don't really like it.

Hermione and Ron will probably get together,although it would be better if Hermione was with Harry.

Ron, completley. After reading Book 6, there's no doubt.

It probably will be Ron, but I still like the idea of her with Harry

I, myself personally, have always been a Hermione/Ron shipper. They just balance each other off so well and make a great match. Hermione can be uptight and tense well Ron is very relaxed and lenient. Ever heard the saying "opposites attract?" Well it proves true all the time, especially when you look at Ron and Hermione.

Ron of course!!! She's loved him from the start, and I think she was internally upset about him and Lavender in OOP. She also seemed disappointed about how he didn't ask her in the first place in GOF, but that could've been the whole "Just because it's taken you 3 years to notice I'm a girl..." thing. But I'm pulling for Ron

Hermione is deeply in love with Ron.
People who actually read the books can see it. Their love was there throughout the six books. There has to be no reason for love. It just happened.
They're going to get together in the last book. No doubts here.

I think JKR's main idea is to get Ron and Hermione together........though they quarrel most of the time and find each other annoying. But still they have a soft spot for each other and most of the time Ron comes for Hermione's help(Mudblood in COS, Backing Hermy in POA when snape criticizes her, Helping out Hermy when she gets hurt because of Harry's angry duel with Malfoy in GOF).Even Ron's anger with Hermione going out with Krum for yule ball was only an act of concern (mingled with jealousy), which shows he likes her more than a friend.
I also like the relationship which Harry and Hermione share because they are not quarreling and they were together(even when Ron fights with harry in GOF, hermy supports him).And even in OOTP Hermy was more concerened about Harry's occlumency and other stuff, while ron left it to Harry.
I personally dont have any problem with R/Hr and would not mind even if JKR turns the story the other way by making H/Hr in book 7, and if it happens,I'd like to see how it happens!!

It has to be Ron! They've liked each other from the first book, they just didn't know it, and I'm pretty sure JKR said something about them getting gradually closer together....

harry&hermione r meant 2 be..not ron/mione..no way...harry&hermione have a rock solid r'sip.. built on trust,love,friendship,care etc...all tht ron/hermione's r'ship is not...

ron&hermione quarrel or bicker way 2much...never u'stand each other...n it will never last..at such an early stage...they're arguing so much..n ron is never sensitive to hermione...hate ron anyway...in tht way...

i really like d way harry cares for her...so loving as a fren..considerate..evid. fr SoS till hbp...
i mean,it's their r'ship which will last no matter wht..if they got married..super big prob. may be faced...only a love tht harry&hermione share can pull them thru...she's v caring n selfless n kind twds harry...

Harry and Hermione fit and they r very caring toward each other. Hermione can last without Ron for many weeks but for Harry only days and she still seething at Harry when he is not following rules but still she hang with him. If hermione get mad at ron, she shut out with him but with harry she doesnt because she put up with it.
SHE DONT TOLERATE RON'S Behavior but with Harry she somehow try to help him out with something

Hermione and Harry's realtionship is more of a open on. I can picture Hermione telling Harry things that she wouldn't talk to Ron about because Harry is more sencibele than Ron is (yes, it's true and you know IT). She and Harry have done so many things together and she really cares for him. In the OotP she (along with Luna actually) can clam Harry fown when he is angry at everything and everyone and Cho was jealous of her and so Cho saw something spical in thier realstionship.

Ron and Hermioen's realtionship is more of a love-hate one. And those don't really hold up unless one of the people change. In the books, they kinda never really speek to each other, they are friends, that's true, but they talk mainly to get Harry to terms with whatever he is going on with at the time. I can see them as a couple but not a lasting one, more like fleeting one. She and Ron plan behind Harry's back about the D.A. and things like that, but those are the only things that we [i]know of[/o] of what they did together without Harry, where are Harry and Hermione have done sooooo many things together without Ron.

Examp. In the SS they (Harry and Hermione, they will be my only they in the nest few sentences) were the ones to do the potions thing, in the CoS..................er.........what do they do? Can't think of anything right now, but will soon. In the PoA they were the ones to stop Lupin and they were the ones daving Sirius and what not. In the GoF they were the ones talking and figuring things out when Ron was busy being jealous of Harry. In the OotP, they go to the forest with Umbrigde. In the HPB, ................I'm at a lost (I haven't read the books in ages so my memory is down right now). But there was probably something to talk about from the HBP.

All in all she will end up with Ron, but Harry is much better choice for her!!!!!!

Yeah, I agree with that. Harry and Hermione get along much better than her with Ron. Although we all know she'll end up with Ron it probably won't last very long. Honestly, how long can a relationship last on bickering? Sadly, Harry will probably end up with Ginny[I don't like her very much]. That's only a theory though. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

If Harry and Hermione it would make Harry too "perfect" that is what most people are arguing. Harry getting together with his girl.

Dan has said before "Harry is a flawed character. and is pitic with girls."



But what does perfection have to do with anything now? Now Harry and Hermione have been friends for seven years and it's not something that was quick.

I think it should be harry because they both understand each other.They don't fight unlike Ron and her do. And they have something that no other friends could have which should make them be together and go out. They are just perfect for one another.
