The Daily Record has posted an interview with Laura Morrison, one of the dancers in the Yule Ball scene in GoF. Quote:
WHEN 12-year-old Laura Morrison left home,the most precious possession in her suitcase was a pair of dancing shoes.
The young girl from Leuchars, in Fife, said goodbye to her parents, friends and her home to follow her dream of a showbiz career.
Now 19, she's won her first film role in the fourth Harry Potter movie after graduating from the prestigious Urdang Academy in London....

Yes, she is really lucky. And she didn't even know a clue about Harry Potter. And then there's all those people out there who are like begging to be in the films and read all the books about 20 times. There's no putting down about her dancing though.
They don't put much about Harry Potter though. There's only like one paragraph about Harry Potter and then the rest is all about her and the schools she goes to and such.

WOW! she is really lucky but it said the scene was filmed when the stars were hidden away in their trailers...do you think she even got to meet them?

It's a bit creepy the resemblance between her name and my HP name. :-p We're both professional performers too. I'm not superstitious though. Yay for real dancing in movies. We can all thank Grease, Chorus Line, and Footloose. I can't wait to see if they have ballroom in GoF.

I don't see anything about a solo dance but the article said that the trio were in their trailers while dancing was being filmed. Maybe that was for crowd dancing scenes, where they'd use body doubles, as opposed to close-ups.
