Young Lucius Malfoy cast in Half-Blood Prince (UPDATE #2)
The Harry Potter and the Half-Blood PrinceIMDb page has listed actor Tony Coburn as a young Lucius Malfoy in the sixth film. We are unaware of the context in which the actor will play Lucius, and thus will wait for Warner Bros. on confirmation of this news.
UPDATE: Our partner site Blog Hogwarts secured a photo and an interview with Coburn, in which he confirms his role in Half-Blood Prince.

BH: Who did you work with? Who did you meet? TC: I acted with Jim Broadbent and was in the death scene with Michael Gambon, Daniel Radcliffe, Maggie Smith and Robbie Coltrane.
BH: How did you feel participating in a Harry Potter movie? TC: It’s amazing to be in the film and I would never have imagined that I would feature in one, even though the part is small, it's still fantastic fun.
BH: In which other projects have you been involved? TC: I have played Scrooge on stage before and featured on Totally Doctor Who.

Maybe he's been included in the scenes with Young Riddle. I know they're not the same age, but that doesn't mean the films haven't been creative with canon (it's not like it'd be the first time...)
Hmm i agree i am sure at some point there was a mention of Lucious at school!
OH MY GOSH! WAIT, whoa, wait. Wasn't there a part in one of the HP books that mentioned Lucius sitting in the Great Hall when he was younger? Like, Harry saw it in a Pensieve or something? I keep thinking that Lucius was mentioned in The Prince's Tale [Deathly Hallows] when Severus got sorted, but idk.
*YAY! I just checked, and it's on page 673 of the US edition. * I know it's not Half-Blood Prince, but maybe they need to cast him now? :] Just a thought....
Young Lucious is "in a dinner scene with Professor Slughorn"? Is this cannon?
Or are WB adding the scene to provide a bit of back story about Snape's recruitment as a Death Eater and/or the Severus / Lily / James triangle?, to fill in the gaps left as a result of ignoring it in earlier movies!
Okay, my guess is that he will simply be a bit of background when they go back in time to when Slughorn had his Slug Club meetings. Other than that, it wont be much or they really be adding to the story.

I know why they have a Young Lucius in the film! Cos... well, Lucius Malfoy is very attractive. He's hot! lol, this is for the Lucius fangirls... *nodnod*
Okay, so I don't know for sure. But who am I to question a cute younger version (unmarried) of Lucius Malfoy? *snickers* I'm curious, I admit, but whee! Can't wait for the film now!
