| | | Yates' comments on the OoTP
David Yates, in an interview for LA Times, commented on OoTP. He stated that when he read the book he discovered strong political overtones. He also adds, "And it's probably the most emotional of all the books." "As I read the book, suddenly, I tuned into the kind of thing I have always been drawn to."
Regarding the relationship between Professor Umbridge and Harry, Yates has a few comments. "Professor Umbridge is quite damaged as a person," he added. "She basically abuses Harry and puts him through this horrific detention. It is horrific abuse."

Hogwarts RPG Name: Teagan Skye Corliss Fifth Year | Chris Cookie Siriusly In Love I'll go with Yates on this one. HBP was definitely enticing, but OOTP puts the most emphasis on the psychology of the characters, on Harry's relationships with those who surround him, and it's also the book where we finally see Harry sort of 'get in touch' with his emotions, be they 'pretty' or not. |

| Ultimate Potterite Original original Hah, yeah, the detentions are quite horrible. But they would have even more of an impact if you had kept the words that he carved into the back of his hand like they had been written! |

Hopefully he meant "to date" when he said most emotional. Each book has gotten deeper and thus more emotional. He may not even have read HBP, to aviod the possibility of something from a future book comming into play too early.

I think both OotP and HBP are very political. Both are good examples of the goverment sticking it's head in the sand or being totally lost.

I think the HBP is the most emotional but OotP has more dark sort of parts like the detention with umbrige (imagine a bunch of little kids watching it and going around carving things into their hand... a serious hazard)

My sock drawer has politics ... just because Ootp is the most overtly political of the books doesn't mean the others aren't ... seriously, then they go acting like politics is something you have to go looking for ... only in films you dork. T: You're still just miffed Rupert won't be playing Quidditch right?
O: And how!!!!!!!!!11111111 You wanna see politics*moons the director*

XD I agree with what you said *nods*
In the other books Harry doesn't actually feel things as deeply as in OotP It's really good to see how he reacts towards some things that happen around him. I can't wait to see how this will turn out in the film

Maybe we'll see our kids come here one day.
That's the thing about Hogwarts.
