In a new interview with
Xpose magazine, Dan Radcliffe discusses wanting to stretch his acting wings by choosing more challenging roles such those in as
Equus and
My Boy Jack. He also describes what it’s like to work with Imelda Staunton (Professor Umbridge) and Gary Oldman (Sirius Black).
Quote:
Any scene really with Imelda Staunton or Gary Oldman has been incredible, just because they're both so brilliant to work with. The thing that I really admire about both of them is the fact that not only are they great actors, but they're also incredibly personable. They'll talk to anyone on the set about anything, and then as soon as they get on the set they're focused and they just act. And they're brilliant, and they're constantly refining their performances, so it's fantastic for me to watch that.
He goes on to talk about teaming up with Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon) in the upcoming play
Equus.
Quote:
I can't wait to work on Equus with Richard, it will be fantastic to work with him in another capacity other than Uncle Vernon. At the moment I see him for a couple of weeks on every film, bar the fourth, which unfortunately he wasn't in, and then he goes off again and as much as a fantastic actor as he is I never get to spend as much time with him. And so on this I get to spend the first half of next year with him!
