| | |  Will it be a Harry Christmas?
The Sun has today run a feature in response to the slight change made at JK's site which we reported on a few days ago.
Everyone, including the press and fans, seem convinced JK has finished the book ( Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince), I however, am not. It was just days ago that she updated her site stating the following: Quote:
So: I have nothing noteworthy to report, because I have been spending nearly all my time sitting in front of my computer writing, re-writing and taking the occasional break to bang my head off the desk in frustration or else rub my hands together in fiendish glee (I think the latter has happened once). But anyway, The Sun (notorious British Tabloid) has even quoted a theory from a Leaky Cauldron reader saying the following: Quote:
One reader said: “She always gives these hints that are so small, but turn out to be huge.
“I think that she will definitely reveal to us something huge on the sixth book on Christmas day. I can’t wait!”
The Sun adds: Quote:
HARRY Potter fans reckon author JK Rowling has a Christmas Day surprise for them. ... the release date of the sixth book.
Feverish readers are convinced she has FINISHED writing Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince after finding a clue on Rowling’s website.
Might I also add that expecting something like this defeats the whole concept of it being a surprise. I don't think the actions of Jo Rowling are that predictable at all. Remember what a shock the OotP release date announcement was? With the anticipation and anxiety heightened further since then, I'd expect the surprise to be even more of a shock than that was.

I'm just pondering but what if one of these rumors turn out to be true and we might not know which one because there are so stinkin many!!
Just a stupid thought... However I don't think that HBP is done yet, from my point of view she obviously is trying as hard as she can to finish it and release it but it just doesn't add up.

I dont think she will be giving a release date on Christmas. I mean.. gotta have hope but it doesn't seem realistic when they did mention maybe January. I dunno..... all we can do is hope!

I don't know if JKR is aiming for shock value, though. I think she just wants her fans to be excited and begin anticipating the upcoming book... not fall out of their chair from the sudden knowledge of a release date.

I'd love it if she gave the realese date of the book on Christmas Day...but i have a feeling that she'll open the door on her site, and we'll all go crazy and be like 'OHMYGOSH!' just to find she's posted 'Merry Christmas!' lol!

^^LOL! Yea, and then all the crazy fans will rearrange the letters in Merry Christmas to find out the release date, even though she simply wanted to wish us a Happy Christmas! I think she'll reveal something Christmas Day, though I'm not sure if it will be the release date.

I have a benefit of a doubt that the annoucement of the release will come on Christmas Day, but I definitely have no doubt she'll reveal something behind the door that day, even though I am slightly optimistic that she will.
