| | |  Who is the HBP - more theories
Nicholas Tam, who writes up monthly articles at Nick's Café Canadien, has several theories about the identity of the Half-Blood Prince. Many have been heard before, but my personal favourite is a fairly convincing case for Dean Thomas. The related passage can be read below: Quote:
Of the Gryffindor boys, he is the one about whom we know the least directly from the books, aside from his fondness for West Ham football. He has a comprehensive backstory that as Rowling said, was written for Chamber but excised upon being determined as tangential. It involves him never knowing that he had a wizard for a biological father, growing up thinking he was a Muggle-born. Not in his favour, though, is that this story arc was entirely scrapped from any development over the course of five books, and that Rowling has revealed as much as she has without worrying about spoiling the plot, something she is so often cautious to avoid. To quote the author: "Now I don't think his history will ever make it into the books." Other candidates selected by this fan, include; Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hagrid, James Potter and Snape. He also makes a commentary on Mark Evans and Tom Riddle.

I don't think it's Snape or Slytherin either, but I do think it's one of the founders. I'm thinking Gryffindor.

Yep.
Anyways, I think it'll most probably be Hagrid because being a half-giant he is a half-blood and wasn't his mother a queen or something among the giants? That would make him a prince, right?
I'm sure JK will surprise us anyways lol

i think it might be someone who isnt that big of a main character maybe like peter pettigrew or neville, u know someone who we dont know all about but just enough to be vague. idk who j.k. has said about who it isnt or is but thats just my guess

i think it would be a huuuuge twist if it turned out to be snape since the HBP is sposed to help harry, but twists are one of jk's talents, so i wouldnt be surprised if it was him...
okay i kinda would be but still...

personally i think that its just going to be a random person in the wizarding world that harry has to save, or becomes a member of the order. thats would be a total suprise to fans, and also it would give JK the option of bringing in another major character for book 7

I do not believe we have met the half blood prince yet. I do believe that he will have something in common with Prof. Lupin, actually two things. 1st he will be the next DADA teacher and 2nd he will have a profound impact on Harry's prowse as a maturing wizard. After re-reading OoTP(I hated the book the fist times through, **** that Delores Jane Umbridge.) But after repeated readings that book set the stage for Harry to take a quantum leep in his wizarding progress. He finally knows the why's to all of his major questions.
He has progressed greatly In the defense against the dark arts due to his teaching The members of DA. I think Dumbledore will bring in this HBP as the new DADA teacher who will help to train harry for the final showdown to come in Book seven...Of course I could be just blowing smoke.
