| | | What's in the GoF script and what's been cut - an exclusive sneak peek - unconfirmed Summary:
An exclusive sneak peek has been given into what's been kept in the Goblet of Fire script and what's been cut or reduced. Article: What's in the GoF script and what's been cut Mugglenet reader Blackstar has sent the site some information about what is included in the upcoming GOF film. It does contain major plot spoilers. The information below has not been confirmed by WB, therefore we don't know if this is the final cut script for the film or not.
He/she does however include a reason for why they have this information: Quote: I used to work with a movie review site, and still get reports from some people who think I still do work there. Nowadays I don't use them, but this one I thought I would pass onto you. (Highlight to read) What's been cut
* The SPEW storyline altogether, opening scene with the Dursleys, the Hogwarts express (there are shots of it, but nothing in the train,) and the wand weighing. What's still in
* Creepy opening scene with Voldemort, Wormtail and Nagini. The Dark Mark scene, the "Potter Stinks" bit, the skrewts, the horntail challenge, the merpeople challenge (should be very cool!) The final challenge, although the spider may NOT be in it. (My source didn't remember seeing it.) The Sphinx is in. So is Dobby and Winky, the Portkeys, Crouch freaking out, the Pensieve scene and Cedric's end. Things that are drastically cut
* Yule Ball, Quidditch World Cup, Rita Skeeter stuff (she's in it, but not as much as the book,) Harry stressing over the egg clue, Snape scenes (he's not in it much,) Hagrid & Maxine love story (it's there, but just reduced to a few brief moments for humor,) Dumbledore's humor (again... they never get him right!) Note on the ending
* They manage to get it all pretty much in, which is surprising given what's going on. It sounds like they really pulled it off. The second challenge really acts as a mid-movie action sequence that should blow the doors off of a lot of what we've seen so far in the films. The final challenge also sounds amazing, and the ending should be really creepy. I know they say this with every movie, but this one could be really eerie (not just "dark") because of the very evil Voldemort scenes. Not sure what the young ones will think of it. This stands to do justice to the book, and be the best movie of the series! (And after Cuaron's work, that's saying something!)
A huge thanks to Mugglenet and their member Blackstar for this. |

For goodness sake! *smacks you all*
It says UNCONFIRMED and also does not say cut, but drastically cut, ie; still there but not as much.
Maybe we need an SS dictionary for some members...

| Ofcoarse it's drastically cut, Kloves will give us enough time to see how beautiful Super!Hermione is and how every guy is drooling over her, and then they will move onto the next scene...

People c'mon its A MOVIE of course they have to cut. What did you expect.
Plus they never said they would take those things out completely.
Everybody cries like a baby when they change something. I understand that you guys LOVE the books but at least be reasonable about it.
The movies can't be carbon copies of the books.
Plus it hasn't even been confirmed, anyways.

ARGH!!! I thought that having a new director will make harry potter 4 better than number three (not that there was anything wrong with it, only thing that i didnt like was the parts being cut out). Why should the movie be cut down so that it can be under afew hours. Lord of the rings was like five hours, and harry potter is alot better than lotr, and therefore be five hours too. Who cares about how much it will cost! The last film earned over $246,547,311 dollars! isnt it obvious that this money will compensate for the costs? I really hope that they have the hogwarts express scenes, because it will introduce rons dress robes and pigwidgeon. I also hope that the prefects bathroom scene is in it. Myrtle is so funny and would make a great inclusion to the film.

You forget that with the child laws in place, it'd take two years to make a 5 hour HP film and therefore the child actors would be too old to do the next film.

Also the Lotr audience is older.
Most of the HP audience is going to be little kids with the attention span of a gold fish. lol

Lol, true. But of course everyone in the cinema will already know that, because she's so stylish and all, even when she shouldn't be.
And that might just be the reason why the SPEW storyline was cut. When she kept going about SPEW Hermione was that annoying it made me want to slap her. I'm glad they kept some of the Hagrid/Maxime story in, it should be pretty funny. |

yeh Im a bit upset about the hogwarts express scenes being cut, but really people I think ur makin too big a deal out of it. I'm glad the S.P.E.W thing was cut because whilst I loved it in the book it would just be annoying in the film. Also people plz stop pannicking over the Quidditch World Cup being cut drastically. it probably just means that they wont have that long part just before where they meet every1, and they mite not have the bit with Harry messing with his Omnioculars, so that he misses the goal, and thinks that a completly different player has the Quaffle. The Yule ball will just be cut so it doesnt have as much of Rons moping and jealousy etc. in it, but I really hope they have Fred and Angelinas mad dancing in it because that would be very fun.
at least they might have the bouncing Malfoy ferret scene in but I wanna know how they r gonna do Mad-Eye Moody, because if you read his description in the book his face has been described really visible with all the scarring and the chunk missing from his nose. Oh well if they can make thousands of Orc's look like that in LotR's then I'm sure that HP can make a single Mad-Eye Moody (cant wait to see his blue eye lol)

I'll believe it when it's been confirmed. It seems like they kept most of the important stuff. If this is true.

| Keeper of Mr Tennant's specs Ah so WB are sugar coating GOF by taking out the death at the end acorfing to this.
OMG what are they going to to just say Cedric left and was never heard of again? come on his death is a big part of Harry's problems In OOTP for goodness sake.
but sureley JKR would have said yes you can cut this but noit that.
And i cabt believe they are cuting Snape scenes again they did it in POA to give HErmione or something more time on screen.
i am so not likeing Kloves.
i know that they cant keep everything in but there is lots od things that can be cut but not things like the death because it will change the tone of the Graveyeard scene.

The world cup has to be in it. We have allready had scenes of them walking up to the hill to get the portkey.
