The Daily Mail in the UK recently reported that WB was unhappy and against Dan's new role in "Equus," even causing other rumors to spread such as the desire for WB to fire Dan as Harry Potter.

Determined to squash this rumor, WB released this statement today supporting Dan's "artistic choices" in "Equus":

I think people are overracting a bit. WV is right. He's quit a good actor.

I'm grateful Warner Bros. is fully supporting Dan's decision to do other stuff. They're smart, they know they'll lose money on future HP movies if they fire Dan for just this and replace him with someone inferior.

I still don't get why people are making such a big fuss about this. He's a legal adult, not a kid anymore. Besides, the movies themselves are getting darker and more mature, and overprotecting parents need to understand that fact.
