Post VUE cinemas to hold adult screenings of Half-Blood Prince?

VUE cinemas, a movie chain in the UK, have announced that they will be starting adult only screenings for certain films. These special showings will require patrons to be aged 18 or over. On their website they are now asking people to vote on future films, including Half-Blood Prince. You can vote by going here.

I like the idea!!

It's kind of bothersome to have young kids around in this kind of movies. Wish theatres around here did the same.

First to post!!

I like that idea actually. Even though I'm not 18 yet (Nor do I live in the UK. Sad, I know. lol.), I think it would be pretty nice for those who are older than 8 to go to a film without having to worry about little kids getting scared, throwing loud tantrums, and stuff like that.

They already did late night screenings as adults only, but it sounds good for people who want to go in the day. I think the idea will be a success...

We have this in Australia, and I can't tell you how wonderful it is to be able to go to a movie and not have hundreds of children talking and asking questions.

Our over 18 cinemas have recliners and only seat 40 or 50. It's BRILLIANT.

That's why I go to the midnight viewings of the movies. I don't like listening to little kids saying they have to go potty.

Ohhhh what a brilliant idea! I would even pay the extra money that going to Vue requires, if I could see HBP without the squalling small people.

I agree, sounds good...I am gonna have to smack someone if they even make a tiny sound while my EDWARD from Twilight is speaking during the midnight showing.

Too funny!!! However, having two young daughters who have seen every HP movie about 16 times each, not to mention LOTR, etc., I go to the movies where there are loads of kids OFTEN and I have yet to see a tantrum, kids getting scared and shrieking, etc. Mostly it is tiny babies crying or annoying older people who, um, TALK and WHISPER LOUDLY and DISCUSS THE MOVIE AS IF THEY WERE MOVIE CRITICS..... so yeah, I have been going to movies longer than most people on Snitchseeker have been alive....and I rarely experience kids being the problem....it is usually the grownups

o0o0o0 Adult Screenings!
I Wish I Lived in the UK!
It Would Be Great if They Also Did the Screenings Over Here to get a Variety of Population not Just Older Than 18! *Hint Hint*

That's...interesting. I remember the fisrt time I saw OOTP in the theater there was a bunch of people goofing around and talking and what not, so I couldn't hear anything, I went home thinking OOTP was terrible, but the second time I saw it I was with a really fun audience who knew when to be quiet and when to whoop and hollar, it was awesome! Made the movie 10 times more enjoyable.

I think it's a great idea, and i'm only 17. It really annoys me when people are squeeling the whole way through.

Gryffindor Adults only movie times

I think it may be a good idea. Sometimes it would be nice for both segments of the age difference to have separate showings. I do not live in the UK so it probably will not make any difference for me.

That sounds like a good idea. I'm not 18 yet, but when I am I may appreciate it.

I was wondering why they'd have an "Adults Only" movie screening. It is because they don't want any kids talking around and just have "serious" watchers, or is it because they'd include scenes that may be a little too graphic for the younger audience? Either way, I think it's a good idea.

Damn, I'm only 14, but it is very annoying having younger children scream and talk during the film. I guess that's a good idea, if only I was 18, 4 more years!!!lol

Ultimate Potterite Original original

Well, that's interesting... Why don't they just stick to the ratings instead?

is there any reason they are showing an adult screening for hbp or does it include other movies too?
