| | | 'Voldemort' talks PS & GoF Richard Bremmer, the man who voiced Voldemort in ' Philosopher's Stone' today gave a short interview to the Northern Echo in which he talks briefly about PS and the up & coming ' Goblet of Fire' film. Quote: |
Bremmer's lack of fame led to him losing out on the part when the two meet again in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
| Quote: |
"The producers spent a long time fighting to get me, so I'm very proud to have been the first. But the role is now being played by Ralph Fiennes, who is an old mate, in the fourth film. I've been in the business a long time and it didn't surprise me they just went for a bigger name, being Hollywood led, and I'm happy to pass it on to Ralph."
| Quote: |
He agrees that after the "child-friendly" first film, Harry Potter plots have got darker "mainly because the audience is growing older with the films."
| The article also mentions that part of Bremmer's scenes as Voldemort in PS were cut because they were "too scary."

| I'm really interested as to what those 'cut scenes' included!
It is a pity that films can't be praised on their plot alone. The need to have famous names in the cast seems to show a lack of confidence in the story line.
But hey! Ralph comes a fantastic family of talent so i'm sure he will do us proud! |

| Why do they have to go for bigger names? I didn't even know someone named Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint existed before the HP films. But anyway, at least he's not too upset about it and can pass it on without regret. He's being really good about the whole thing. |

| i dont agree with the whole bigger-names part; a lot of the [child] actors / actresses were unknowns [to me] before the films! but im glad that bremmer is being a good sport about not getting to be voldy in GOF. |

| I think Ralph Fiennes will do a great job. He's creepy-looking enough to be Voldemort. Remember "Red Dragon"?? He was good there as the crazed, disturbed-since-childhood murderer... |

Interesting article...He sounds like a nice person - not being childish about Fiennes took over... |

| I have total faith that Fiennes will do an exceptinal part (considreing he will be bald). But maybe they should offer parts to people they cast in the previous films to later parts before recasting. (I am sure that the script wirters knew who would become bigger parts in later film anyways.) |
