A survey conducted by Amazon has named Lord Voldemort as the fourth scariest children's character from a book.
Bill Sykes from Oliver Twist, Cruella De Ville from 101 Dalmations and The Childcatcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, beat Lord Voldemort. Quote:
Amazon product manager Wendy Snowdon said, "They are the very stuff of nightmares. Genuinely scary villains stick with us from the first time we read the book as a child."
The under 21s found characters such as the Grand High Witch from The Witches or Voldemort from Harry Potter particularly terrifying.
Men found the mythical literary characters such as Gollum and The White Witch from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe scary.
But women found the bullies such as Bill Sykes twice as scary as the men.

1st to post! But Voldy is scarier than some of those villians, I think. Though, Bill Sykes was very frightening, especially that white dog that always followed him around... wait...that was Bill Sykes right? The one with the dog?

OMG I hated that witch from The Witches!! That film is REALLY scary and creepy *gulps*
But I have to say that I think Voldemort is probably one of the scariest characters ever...he certainly scares me...*hides*

I think Voldomort is scarier then all them...I never really found Cruella De Ville that threatening...I always was scare of the Sea Witch in Little Mermaid. But still Volodmort is scarier then even the Sea Witch...well to me.

The Childcatcher seems more realistic than Voldemort, to me anyways! I mean what do you hear on the new every other night...some nasty...kidnapper. You never hear about the power crazed wizard on the news.
