Daniel worked really well with the (let's face it) pretty terrible material. I don't watch Saturday Night Live because I don't think it's funny anymore. But I decided to watch for Daniel.
He did a great job in the skits in which he participated and he even made some of the lamest jokes funny with his acting choice so bravo, Dan! (Though, honestly, the "You Can Do Anything" skit was legitimately funny....but sadly, it's so true.) And it was nice to see him hug everyone at the end. Good guy.

This episode really highlighted how bad SNL has gotten over the years. If Dan hadn't been hosting I definitely would not have been watching. I will say that Dan certainly gave it his all and showed his chops as a comedic actor. Hopefully he will consider doing comedy in the future (but maybe not on SNL again!)

I enjoyed watching Dan's excitement and acting on it. But the writing was awful. Who do they have writing for them anymore?!
