Video: Rupert Grint talks Deathly Hallows split; David Yates gives film commentary
Rupert Grint recently spoke about his opinion of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I split, and working with Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort on screen. That can be viewed here.
Director David Yates did a commentary on one of the sequences for Deathly Hallows: Part I for the NY Times, more specifically where Harry, Ron, and Hermione fight a pair of Death Eaters in a London cafe. Yates explained the trio's situation at that point, the gun-fight-like wand duel, and the atmosphere of the cafe itself. The video, featuring the entire scene with new clips, can be seen here; the audio is below.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released November 19, 2010, and July 15, 2011. Click on the banner below to pre-order tickets for Part I at Fandango. Tickets are also on sale now in the UK; head over to the Harry Potter official UK Facebook for more information.
I have to say, even if I may not always agree with the choices that David Yates has made, the level of thought that he put into the cafe is impressive. I love how he describes the constant screeching sound of the coffee machine in the background as having a haunting, musical quality to it. And his description of magic as very kinetic goes well with the real-world backdrops.
