| | | Video of Rupert on 'An Audience with...'
Rupert Grint together with James and Oliver Phelps last night appeared on ' An Audience with Al Murray.' A video segment featuring Rupert on the programme, can now be seen.
Download the clip from here courtesy of Mugglenet.
(Right click and 'save target as...')
Al spent quite a big part of the show massaging celebrity egos by giving them shout outs. In the process of doing this, he chatted to Rupert Grint.
"How old are you?" Murray asked Grint in front of the celeb-packed audience including Frank Skinner and Edwina Currie. 'Sixteen, " Grint replied. "No, how old are you, son?" continued Murray. "Twenty-one, " Grint squeaked. "No son, that is not going to convince anyone, " screamed Murray. "How old are you?" "Erm, 18, " concluded Grint. "Good boy. Now buy yourself a pint."
He then asked Rupert what year he was born, if he was 18. Following that, he gave him the £20 note he 'stole' from Gordon Ramsay earlier in the show and told him to go buy himself a drink.
After the commercial break, Rupert came back in with a tray of beers. He handed them around and Al asked, "Is that your first pint?" and Rupert responded with a stout, "No!".
The joke being that Al Murray's sketch was centered around a makeshift pub. He's meant to personify the 'British drunken yob' and thus his comedy centres around the stereotype and mocks the sometimes arrogant views of the British.

Clearer screencaps can be seen at RGMS and RG.net.
And, before any of you get on your high horses, he is legally allowed to drink! |

I thought the show was hysterical --
"We tell the rest of the world what the time is."
"This is what it used to feel like to be British." *bounces blow up globe beach ball*
LOL The way he made Dean Gaffney continually sing the English national anthem was pathetic but the joke about it saving the queen LOL *God moves an iceberg AWAY from the QE2* "Phillip! Phillip!" LOL
Some bits were extremely crass though. I'm sick of seeing Abi Titmuss everywhere.

The show was great!
Some of the jokes weren't all that funny! I was disappointed about that.
That Rupert sketch was great! The look on Rupert's face at times appeared that he didn't know how to react.
For example, when Al was doing the age thing with Rupert and Rupert replied "21", Al came back saying something along the lines: "that won't fool anyone, you still got your mother's breast milk on our face". Rupert's face after that comment made him look like a dear caught in the headlights. Bless
Anyways, good show.

Yeah those things are sort of 'on the spot' but in all fairness, you've got to expect that audience participation will be required, especially if you're from something so big and so British!
It was rather brave of him to do that in front of so many established people. Must've been rather daunting, but I suppose he's got to now make that transition from childhood to adulthood.

Probably but because they aren't as known, Al didn't mention them therefore the camera didn't zoom on them as much.

It was soooooooo funny! I nearly died laughing!
Al Murray sent Rupert Grint to fetch beer for him, his mum and james and oliver phelps and they served him, but i was crying with laughter at some points, it was awsome!

LOL I'm not stuck up enough to take offence. I was expecting him to crack more jokes about the Welsh because he went on about the Irish and how they built our roads, for ages. But he only said that small remark which was nothing really.
His mum, Merri? I thought it was his dad sat to Rupert's right! In the white suit...

LOL I so loved that! Rupert's so cute with his nervous ticks, but he looked like he had a lot of fun. I'd have done the same thing with getting the year wrong. haha I'd have said it that way too because I'd have been thinking my age rather than the year like Rupert did. Quote:

Hah! I so agree. And it's always been my type of humor... always been weird to find certain things funny and others not. haha

Ok, I don't really like Rupert, but he was cute on that show! I was watching the video and I'm like aaawww... look at him. I'm sort of disappointed that I didn't see my Oliver though. I saw an eety bitty part of him, but they showed James... Oh well, whatever... that was cute!

That was hillarious!!!! Al Murray is a riot. I'm in America obviously, does he usually do a routine or does he pick on audience member the whole time? Bravo and thanks for the link! I was in Harrogate a few years back and he reminded me of a guy in apub there. He was cracking me and my friends up. I think it was England vs. Scotland ina football match, and England was loosing. crazy football hooligans!
