Video: Harry Potter actors in SuperCon panel discussion (UPDATE #3)
Actors Hugh Mitchell (Colin Creevey), Natalia Tena (Tonks), Devon Murray (Seamus Finnigan), and Danielle Tabor (Angelina Johnson in the first three Harry Potter films), were in attendance this past weekend at Florida's SuperCon, during which they took part in a panel discussion.
Fans asked the four actors about their favourite Harry Potter characters, which character they best resembled personality-wise, the Hogwarts House that would best suit them (they all said Slytherin), whether or not they've read the seventh book (none of them had), and strange experiences with fans, amongst many other topics.
Flickr user Adhararose was kind enough to record segments of the panel discussion, which has been put together as one streaming video for the sake of convenience and viewable below:
[Note: Some of the content of this video is of a mature nature]
There was a segment that showed Nat Tena participating in a fake sword fight with another actor, which can be seen below:
UPDATE: Gretchen was lucky enough to attend the event, and gave a detailed synopsis of the panel discussion (please note that there is strong language, courtesy of Nat Tena). Nat admitted that Dumbledore's funeral will not be in the sixth film, and briefly discussed Tonks and Remus's relationship in Half-Blood Prince:
Quote:
She said that in the next movie [Remus and Tonks] have "all these yearning looks. Would they hold hands? No, I don't think they would hold hands, they'd just be near each other and be cool, and then run off to have naughty sex."
UPDATE #2:TLC's latest Podcast comes live from the SuperCon, where the four actors talked about the Harry Potter series.
During the interview session:
Quote:
- Hugh talks about his band (which he says plays melodic rock music) and the fact that he finished college recently.
- Nat actually HAS read Deathly Hallows (despite what she said in the other interview), and in Half-Blood Prince Tonks "kills some fire snakes," which is part of the new Burrow scene added in the sixth film; she talks about how sad she was about Dumbledore's funeral being cut out as it was a scene where Remus and Tonks get together, but the couple's intimate scenes are shown in the Burrow scene.
- As for Tonks' 'off-screen death' in Deathly Hallows, Nat hopes to have a bit of a fight at Hogwarts before the death.
- Devon says that he's hardly in Half-Blood Prince, but still has a bit of fun (says Seamus is the stupidest wizard in all of Hogwarts, in his opinion); there might be some pyromania with his character and he mentions Seamus trying out for Quidditch trials in the sixth film and doing a bad job at flying.
- Nat admits that not all cast members receive the entire script of the movie, so she's not aware of what happens in the film as a whole until the day of the movie premiere, usually.
- When asked about Angelina marrying George at the end of the series, Danielle says it's cool and is glad the characters got together (she said Angelina got the best of both with dating both Weasley twins).
- Devon's favourite scene to film was from Goblet of Fire, and the entirety of the Yule Ball (including learning to dance for eight weeks).
- Devon said he looked forward to the fight with Harry and Seamus in Order of the Phoenix (even mentioned that the pair were meant to have a physical fight but was cut out), and said that he would have won the fight against Harry, given that he was Irish (he jokes).
- Hugh says he was all right with Colin's fate in Deathly Hallows, and said his character was a fighter at the end, so it was fine for him to die; he is also indifferent towards the Nigel character in the movies.
- Nat says that she's tried to set up four different music bands, and wants to set up gypsy bands to play over the summer given that she has no acting work at the time.
- Hugh talks about how he was asked to do Colin's voice for the Order of the Phoenix video game, where he had to act very excited to portray his character's enthusiasm.
- Nat admits that she cried when Dobby dies, and when asked where the Deathly Hallows films be split, she suggests it be somewhere during Harry, Ron, and Hermione's forest excursion, and concurs a good place could be where Ron comes back to Harry and Hermione in the forest; Devon says that it can be split in any place, and the second part can easily just start off where the first part ended.
- For favourite Harry Potter creatures, Danielle loves the Cornish Pixies in the second movie; Devon liked the Hippogriffs (Buckbeak in particular); Nat enjoyed the Monster Book of Monsters; and Hugh prefered the Basilisk in Chamber of Secrets.
- Devon states that the fourth movie, Goblet of Fire, should have been split (he wanted the Quidditch World Cup and Yule Ball scenes lengthened).
- Devon admitted that the young cast has bonded more as they got older, partly because they became aware of the fact that the series was ending; he also talks about working with David Yates and that the director lets his actors have their own input in the movies to work with.
- The four actors were asked about whether or not they were familiar with the new Harry Potter park being built, and Devon jokingly said that if they couldn't find jobs they could always work at the part their entire lives.
- Nat said her favourite costar was Brendan Gleeson (Moody; whom she hugged and enjoyed laughing with when meeting him for the first time); Devon loved working with Richard Harris; Hugh praised Alan Rickman; and Danielle had a lot of fun with James and Oliver Phelps and their jokes.
- If they could play another Harry Potter character, the boys and Danielle said they'd play Draco, and Nat said she'd like to play Trelawney.
UPDATE #3: A further video of Natalia participating in a fight, can be seen below.

but you know what? It wasreal. It did happen.
We spent time here. We made friends here. That's a part of us.
Cause Hogwarts is bigger than any of us, of any of it's founders,
and it's going to be around long after we're gone.
Maybe we'll see our kids come here one day.
That's the thing about Hogwarts.
No matter how long you're away from it, there's always a way back.
