Post Video: Emma Watson reveals Ron & Hermione added action scene in Deathly Hallows II

In a new junket interview, Emma Watson revealed an added chase sequence - one not in the book - to the battle at Hogwarts in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II involving Ron and Hermione. Without giving too much away for those who don't want to be spoiled before July, it can be viewed below (Emma mentioned it towards the end of the segment).

SPOILER!!: The added scene to Deathly Hallows: Part II, confirmed by Emma Watson...
Emma revealed an action sequence inside Hogwarts where Ron and Hermione are being chased by Voldemort's snake Nagini (Emma pronounced the name differently than in the books and movies).

Warner Bros' Thailand Facebook released two clear versions of 'The Characters' and 'The Malfoys and Bellatrix' featurettes for Deathly Hallows: Part I, featuring many new behind-the-scenes clips, and interviews with stars including: Jason Isaacs, Tom Felton, Helen McCrory, Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Domhnall Gleeson, Imelda Staunton, and Bill Nighy. Those can be watched here.

Don't forget to take part of our Deathly Hallows: Part I discussion, especially if you've seen the movie!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I has now been released worldwide. Click on the banner below to order tickets for the film at Fandango. Tickets are also on sale now in the UK; head over to the Harry Potter official UK Facebook for more information.

its time to choose between what is right and what is easy

ya i too am excited to hear this ! the more the better ! and considering it will be more of a battle film i dont think an extra chase scene is really going to hurt

i really hope they start doing the horcruxes some justice though, i hope they start connecting the dots together about what they mean to voldermort etc.

but im sure they will figure it out! i loved part 1 of DH and i already cant wait unt july!!

Well I'm always happy when more action is added. (however, I do hope that this is not somehow going to eliminate Neville's heroic action scene - then I would be very upset)

I look forward to this scene. While I'm dismayed they took the scene of nagini dying away from neville it will be nice to see more of hermionie and Ron. Also I they likely share their first kills shortly after this. Snake chases them to the chamber of secrets

Very good.
With so much in the books, what's the point in inventing scenes to then delete others?

Adding action scenes to part 2 is a huge advantage. Part 1 covered about EVERYTHING in the book aside from Gringotts and of course the final battle. The filmmakers only have so much material to drag out in an epic fashion without becoming redundant. Or in a worse case scenario: only have enough footage that DOES cover everything and not have at least 2 and a half hours to put into the movie. The last installment will without a doubt be able to be faithful to a T.

I actually liked how Yates said something like this in the London press junket.

"I don't like battles for battles sake. There's no point if you exclude story arcs and character development."

Yates and Kloves must be factoring all bits of shots and whole scenes to make sure the movies (when combined) equate to strive to feel like the book in terms of how it made you feel. All the necessary scenes will be there, of course. Just think of it like this: when Harry is seen running through some corridor, it's inter cut with this new R/Hr scene.

For that matter, why are people complaining. THEY ARE ADDING A RON/HERMIONE SCENE!
BRILLIANT, PERFECT quote!!!!!! Bring on the added R/Hr scenes-they are the BEST Emma seems very happy w. that added scene hehe...any added R/Hr makes DH that much better WOHOO!!
