Last month we reported that Emma Watson would be a celebrity elf for the Today Show's 15th Annual Holiday Toy and Gift Drive. She dropped by the show this morning, collecting gifts for children in a large red bag from the New York audience standing outside Rockefeller Center before talking to the hosts about her upcoming film The Tale of Despereaux; it can be seen below:
it IS staged...they've been doing the same thing all month with every celebrity guest...that's why it's called celebrity elf....but the crowd did really bring toys and the toys are going to be donated to charity...I think it's a really cute idea.
Of course it's staged. It's the Today show. It doesn't get any more staged. Leave it to NY, eh? God I hate this state.

Nearly every show is storyboarded, scripted, and staged before anyone even thinks about broadcasting.xD
