Video: Emma Watson explains why she chose "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" role
Emma Watson revealed earlier this month that she would begin production in the film adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower, costarring Logan Lerman, sometime this summer. Emma explained that she was looking forward to playing someone outside the Harry Potter films, discussed why she chose the role at Monday's ELLE Style awards, where she won the Style Icon award (the interview begins at about 45 seconds in).

I just really loved and identified with the script when I read it, and it just made me laugh. Sam is the character I play; she's a really special girl, and I'm really excited to be a part of it.
Are you looking forward to playing a different character?
Yeah, I'm really looking forward to playing a different character - you know, it's a movie which deals with difficult subject matters, and I'm just really excited that we got the funding to make it, and it's going to be great.
The magic after the last Harry Potter will start to fade after the last release in the summer MY BUTT! Someone needs to tell that girl that Harry lives on forever!
the reporter talks about Daniel Radcliffe's future roles and doings but Emma Watson is the one being interviewed. LOL strange journalism these days...
Love it... I totally see Emma as Sam...Cant wait!!!
Cant wait for Daniel's play in broadway and movies...!!!
Your flavour is milk. You're a quiet person and enjoy the peace, but you also
enjoy a bit of something new. You like the unconventional surprises that life
brings. You keep those dear to you close and adore them, as they adore you. ♥
Do you guys really think the magic of Harry Potter will fade this summer? We can't let this happen! Harry lives forever!
The magic of Harry Potter will never fade. Harry Potter forever!!!
But the actors who played the characters are moving on...and that's understandable. I cannot wait to see them grow and ivolve into amazing, talented actors. Because we met them through this very much loved characters does not mean we have to stick them to it forever. They have a right to move on and do other things and be awesome at it.

Yeah! It may fade for those who aren't fans, but for us (me at least) it won't. I'm glad they won't stop acting though (:

Congratulations to Emma for the new role! I'm looking forward to seeing her play a different character.
But there's a big mistake in that video: Harry Potter's magic will never go away. It probably changes a little as there won't be new books or films anymore, but the magic will never die.
