Mary GrandPre, the artist who illustrated the US Harry Potter books, recently said in an interview that she has no details on Deathly Hallows, and has therefore not yet decided on a cover color. She also noted that OOTP is her favorite cover. You can listen to this interview here.

I think they ought to go Black for the last one, blacks supposed to be the colour of death so it would fit with the 'Deathly' part of the title! Can't wait to see the art work though!

that stinks that she doesn't have any details yet, but my favorite cover was probably CoS or OotP. and i think that the final book should be gray.

My favorite cover was Goblet of Fire. But everything she does is beautiful. I agree, black would be a good choice.
