| | |  US HBP London Contest
Scholastic, the US HP publishers, have launched an essay contest for kids, to celebrate the release of ' Half-Blood Prince'.
10 winners will get a 4-day 4-night trip to London. Hopefuls must write an essay entitled, "Why I love reading Harry Potter". Entrants must be no older than 18 as of June 16th 2005.
Winners will depart on the last flight out of New York City to London on July 15th, and at 12:01 a.m., will receive free copies of HBP.
The winners will be announced on NBC's "Today" show on July 1st.
The essays must be no more than 300 words. They will be judged based on "originality, clarity and the child's ability to describe their unique connection to the Harry Potter books and why they love reading them."
Entrants must be legal residents of the United States Deadline for entries is June 16, 2005.

Wow! That's cool! And it's far easier than Bloomsbury's competition because you have to write the same thing in under 50 words, which is extremely difficult.
