According to NME Magazine, Franz Ferdinand, an alternative rock band from Scotland, have been asked to write music for the fourth Potter film, 'Goblet of Fire'. Quote:
Singer Alex Kapranos saying the band could play a “band of ugly sisters”
He told VH1: "We've been asked to write some music. There's a section where there's a band of ugly sisters playing and I think, well… some members of Franz Ferdinand may be the ugly sisters in the band."
He continued: "There's an excitement and innocence about those films. I like how there's good and evil, and that's a clarity which is quite refreshing."
| They will be the second British rock act to make an appearance in a Potter film. Ian Brown, ex Stone Roses member had a cameo in 'Prisoner of Azkaban'. UPDATE: MTV have also run an article on the same matter. UPDATE 2 : The CBBC now also appear to have picked up on the news.

They would be awsome...I only know three songs from Franz Ferdinand, but I love those three songs!!!. It would be hilarous if they could play the weird sisters....
Now, about Ian Brown... am I wrong or is he the one that played "Quirrel" in movie one??? (Hart, you silly cow!!!!!!!!)
Now...who is Ian Brown in PoA... I remember reading about someone from a band there but who...*thinks*

Franz Ferdinand are perfect for this film. I know they don't look the part at the moment but I think their sound is right. The music they have done so far is very varied, ranging from indie, poppy to almost rock so I think they could do it. I've been wondering who was going to be chosen to do the Weird Sisters for some time, I even thought they might choose The Darkness! | |

I love Franz!! I am so excited, I hope they are in it! They did an interview with the local radio station when they were doing Upstart Fest Part 2 in Atlanta, and they said "This Fire" video would lead off from "Take Me Out" video. I have no clue what that was about, so I'll be lost again!
