| | |  Umbridge is a villain: How bad is that?
Recently, Time Magazine posted an article online. Instead of promoting the good characters in movies, they shockingly chose the other side - the villains! In the top twelve mentioned, Dolores Umbridge - played by Imelda Staunton - fit one of the evil types. Quote:
As Dolores Umbridge, the bureaucrat from the Ministry of Magic in this summer's Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Imelda Staunton is a little bit priestess, a little bit villainous. Staunton, the latest in a line of top British thespians to visit Hogwart's, found it a tough balancing act: "The character has to be ridiculous and yet real and frightening. She has to be silly and yet not cartoony. It's difficult to gauge." The performance and the couture established an ostensibly soft side to Dolores. "She wears cardigans and pinks. She threatens, but if you don't listen to the words it's just a pleasant sound. She's gentle and pleasing. If she seemed hard, there would be no surprises."

That's pretty cool...yeah, I have to agree. In order to potray the role of Umbridge, one would have to be extremely careful and do things just so that it doesn't lean towards one side more than the other. So it seems like Staunton had a difficult time buuut did extremely well is completing the task.

The thing I hate the most about Umbridge is her constant use of pink! it's my favourite color, and it pains me to see such a foul creatrure using it!
Usually villians are much more demanding characters than heroes; it's much easier to turn our comic. Certainly it's a real challenge, I really want to see her. From the trailers it looks great, and certainly much prettier than Jo's DADA professor!
