| | |  Tom Felton talks Harry Potter audition and Anna & the King in First magazine
A new interview with Tom Felton has surfaced in Indonesia's First magazine. Amongst other things, he discusses his audition for Philosopher's Stone and his experience shooting Anna and the King. The full 3-page translated article may be read here. Quote: First of all, let’s take a trip down memory lane. What do you remember from your audition for the Harry Potter movies? What did you have to do?
I remember going up to Leavesden Studios and meeting Chris Columbus with loads of other kids. He used to just talk to us and throw questions to see how we react. I remember in one of the early call backs we were running lines and he was holding an egg (supposed to be a dragon’s egg but represented by a chicken’s!). He then deliberately dropped the egg to see how I reacted! He was great fun and made you feel very at ease.
Quote: You played in Anna and the King. The story of this movie happens in the country we now call Thailand. Did you have to travel to South East Asia to film that movie? If yes, where did you go to and what do you remember from this experience?
For the movie, I went to Malaysia with my mum for 4 months. I was so young I unfortunately don’t remember much of it though!
One of my memories, however, is riding an elephant! I was so happy about it and couldn’t wait to tell my friends back at school. My mum is always reminiscing about her experiences so I’ve learned a lot about my experiences through her. Apparently I wouldn’t eat any of the food they gave me on set as it was so different from what I was used to in London, so she had to go to the KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) she found 20 minutes away from set in a taxi everyday to get me a meal!

yea, that was a great interview. I love tom Felton!  hehe im glad he picked luna...i love her as well! but it sure is a shame he cant remember much from malaysia.

He turned out to be a great actor. I agree with ibecbec. I am grateful at whoever is responsible for selecting and developing these wonderful actors. When I was first introduced to Draco on-screen, I was like "hmmm...he's making me angry,I don't like him" ...and now "I'm like he does his job so well, I love him"! To think of it he was obviously doing his job if he made me angry in the beginning. Hehe!

What a great interview. You know, I always enjoy reading any interview featuring Tom Felton. Tom always brings a smile to my face. He really is so cool as well as kind, charming and polite. That is so true of him. That is so cool that he got to ride on elephant. I have to see Anna and the King. In fact, I'll just buy the movie. Even if Tom was somewhat or like the awesome Draco Malfoy, he would still be cool. Draco is cool.

What a fantastic interview. I's so gald Tom was chosen to play the part of Draco, he portrays him perfectly. I definitely agree with his description of himself, Tom comes across very kind, charming and polite. He is so talented and absolutley gorgeous!!!
