| | | Thousands swamp for tickets to see JK - Summary:
HARRY Potter fans today besieged a website in a bid to win the chance to meet author JK Rowling in Edinburgh. Article:
Thanks to Wizardnews Quote: The city-based writer has agreed to give a public reading of her latest book as part of the Edinburgh Book Festival.*
Demand for tickets for next month’s event, at which Ms Rowling will answer questions from fans, was expected to be so great that a ballot is being organised.*
Fans can log on to Bloomsbury for a chance to be included in the ballot.*
Ms Rowling said: "I will be reading and answering questions at the Edinburgh Book Festival on August 15. This will be my fifth appearance at the festival.*
"I am looking forward to this event very much, because there will be a relatively small audience, which means I can see faces and take questions directly from the fans." Quote: Just three days after the author’s appearance was announced, more than 9000 people have already asked for an application form. The appearance in Edinburgh will be the author’s first public reading for four years, and is to be her only book event this year. Only 500 tickets are available for the reading, but tens of thousands of entries are expected. The Scotsman |

And I am just one in that 9000. Assuming everyone fills the forms to the max, meaning that everyone enters four people on the ballot paper, then only 125 applications would be accepted. Which gives me a 1.4% chance, which is 1/72 of a chance. Not much really when you think about it :/
And if the figure 9000 goes up (which it will, there's still 6 days left to enter) then my chances will be even smaller.

I live in America as well, but am visiting London from the 21st of July to the 3rd of August....not fair!!
I'm sure that someone from Snitch Seeker, if not Marcella, will get to go and report back to us!!
I hope that you get to go Marcella, you would really get a lot of info for all of us who can't go!

I live in New York and I filled out a ballot *L*
I really feel very bad about my chances; it's upsetting because my lil sis really thinks we are gonna win. That would be so cool to go, though...

is the one about Snape "Are you going to kill off our beloved potion's master?"?
I think the Q someone should ask about the HBP is "Is it someone we've already met in the books?" and/or depending on the response "Is it someone we know to be half-blood?"
Also, she could just be trying to trick us with the whole "half-blood" thing... didn't Hagrid say "there's not a witch or wizard who's not half blood or less"?
Hmmm. *ponders*

It would be really cool if J.k. would tell about Snape's childhood and what drove him to the dark side, then back again. Also all about his home life. I bet he was unloved. Poor Snape.

Maybe we should ALL enter and if one of us wins we give it to Emma so she can go for us! More chances that way!
