An image from '
Goblet of Fire' (first published by
Entertainment Weekly), showing
Harry standing before the Riddle grave, caused an outcry among Potter fans. It reads 'Tom Marvolo Riddle 1915-1943'.
We know that Lord Voldemort was not buried in that grave. He also did not murder the Riddles until 1944/1945. If this refers to Lord Voldemort's father then it would make him 11 years old when his son was born (as we know Lord Voldemort was born December 31st 1926). Additionally Voldemort's father's middle name would not have been Marvolo for that name came from his mother's side of the family.
Two articles have arisen, highlighting this mistake, and the fans reactions to it - one in the
Mail on Sunday (scan courtesy of
DR.co.uk) and one in
The Courier Mail.
The articles say, "Producers are said to be considering altering the tombstone with the latest computer wizardry. They have ruled out re-shooting scenes with Dan Radcliffe."
They say WB insist that "it will be accurate in the final film".
No official details are available regarding the corrections.
