It would not surprise me that a Weasley dies, but my guess would be Arthur since he and Lucius have had some recent run ins. Lucius won't forget the scuffle at Diagon Alley we witnessed in CoS. He also despises Arthurs push on laws that limit the dark art things. Mr. Weasley's raids to discover those things also upset Mr. Malfoy.

Considering they make up half the cast... *said with the slightest tinge of sarcasm because you know I'm too nice to give them the whole thing* Gee how did you come to that conclusion?

Harry doesn't wear clogs to begin with...OMG are you people stupid? There's a 7th book and the author has said He isn't going to die...*fires sarcasm from his cannons* gee, you sure on that one? OMG. *wondering what genius wrote this*

Molly is not going to die...but I am if I have to read more articles like this before the book comes out...OMG.

What about Captain Hook? Of course not! He's not in the book, geez people, not that they'd know it not having read them... *fires cannons at magazine* fools...

Well, personally I think its possible that it will be Ginny. I just finished the second book a little while ago and I remember JKR saying that there are clues in the Chamber of Secrets. Tom Marvollo Riddle, Voldemort poured his soul into Ginny. He is apart of her. I started on the third book and on the train to Hogwarts when the Dementor came in she was shaking badly, I believe she was remembering and it came up again in the 5th book. I just have this feeling from reading that paragraph on page 310 chapter 17...if I remember correctly...that there is a possiblity that it will be Ginny.
Thats just my opinion. I could be wrong, of course.

I think it will be Hagrid who dies in book 6. I dont think it will be a Weasley... yet.

i don't know... i hope if it IS one of the weasleys, it will be Percy... otherwise i don't really suspect any of them will die.. if it happens i take that back lol

yup...the weasely's are the most susceptible...i mean theres a strong possibilty in one of them dying........but i hope its not ginny or ron.....
maybe arthur or molly...( in OoTP molly is worried wht'll happen to ron and ginny if they die...) this is just a fear molly has but with voldemort now back to power it can happen.....and yes it cud be either fred or george too....

For someone to 'pop' one's clogs is just a saying. When someone tells me to 'hold my horses', it's understood that I don't, in reality, have any horses to hold.

It's just someone's opinion about what's going to happen. Personally, I think all this speculation makes the wait for the book to come out easier. There's no need to be so defensive...it's good that people discuss the books and keep children interested in reading in-depth into JK's works.

If it is a Weasley, I'll place my bet on Percy. My suspicion is harbored not by an intelligent guess, however, but by complete bias: I hate Percy. So if it has to be a Weasley...

My money's on Hagrid to die in this one, then Dumbledore in the next. If Percy dies it'll be to save one of the Order or something like that.

Must they really go on about a death in the book. It feels that we are going to be reading the obituaries rather than the HBP.

I know that theres supposed to be a death but my parents dont. They might think I was rather depressing and drag me to a counciller or psychyatrist or something.

She did say that a big death was going to happen in this new book....i really don't want to know until i get my hands on it first....not to ruin the moment.....oh yeah, i totally forgot.....Ron and Hermione shippers rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im really not sure who would die. Something tells me Dumbledore because it would give V a chance at Harry in book 7, but now I'm thinking it could be a Weasley. Molly's boggart in OoTP could be sort of a foreshadow. I don't want to think it's a Weasley (unless it's Percy) because they are so nice and just have suffered to much I think.

LOL I love how they say that there is a 95% chance that a weasely will die. Of course, coming from the fact that they make up 95% of the cast. .. no, that was a joke. Of course harry won't die!!! DUH there's a seventh book, and of course it will begin with Harry Potter and the. . .. . teehee or actually he coud die and it would be Harry Potter is Reborn, now with Two Scars instead of the usual One. . . no, that was a joke, too

I think it'll be Hagrid who dies. I'd rather it was him than someone like Snape or Lupin who I like more.

I don't think a Weasley will die till book 7 cos it would be weird to break up the family... I see them as a symbol of the family Harry would like to have. I dunno... I'd just feel strange if there were less than 9 living Weasleys. Wouldn't mind so much if it was Percy though... I was soooo annoyed in OotP when he wrote to Ron telling him to stay away from Harry and all that. If I had been a book character I would have given him the slap he deserves.

Haha *alohamora*, Harry having two scars... someone should write a humour fic about that!

My guess for quite awhile has been that Charlie will be the first Weasley to die. It's less of canon based fact than a feeling. I think JK would kill one of the more obscure Weasley brothers first, so it affects Harry but doesn't tramatize him, and I think Percy still needs to redeem himself before he can even think about getting killed.
I think it's almost too much to hope for that all 9 of the Weasleys will make it through to see the end. They are considered 'blood traitors' to the death eaters, making them almost as big of targets as muggleborns. As someone else said, it doesn't help that Arthur has a bit of a feud with Lucius Malfoy.

I wish there didn't have to be death....i've grown rather attached to the characters.

i could def. see a weasley dieing.. i was thinking Snape is going to die soon too. HEs too big of a spy someone is going to find out
