| | | Terry Gilliam talks Potter Terry Gilliam is interviewed in the September 2005 issue of Entertainment Weekly. The interviewer mentions that Rowling wanted Gilliam involved in the Potter films. The following is his response:
"I was reading the script as I was flying to Los Angeles for the [Warner Bros] meeting and thought, "Oh, she's seen Time Bandits, she's seen Monty Python." You know you're not going to get the job. It's just to keep her happy - due diligence.
The terrible thing about it was during the course of the meeting, I started getting enthusiastic - I was even getting myself excited. I remember leaving the meeting, getting in my car and driving for about two hours along Mulholland Drive just so angry I'd allowed myself to get excited about it.
I mean, Chris Columbus' versions are terrible. Just dull. Pedestrian. But I thought Alfonso Cuaron did a great job with the last one. I thought, Yeah, you got really close to it."

EWW he though POA was ther better movie???? that was the suckiest one if you ask me, and i hate that bcuz it was my fave book(my new one is HBP) and he totally destroyed it, now sure all of them could have been better movies i think they should get Jackson(LOTR) to do the rest of the Potter movies, you cant go wrong with him, unless you are doing a Cabin Fever remix or something

Source: The Leaky Cauldron That is not too nice. I think the first two were REALLY close to the books. The third? It was my favorite and I was highly disappointed in it.

Alfonso was given perhaps the best of the hp series...but he did it in his own way...even changed harry's appearance...while he is supposed to wear oversized shirts of dudley...he wears sweatshirt n roams abt.....n they are hardly seen wearin their robes...

We spent time here. We made friends here. That's a part of us.
Cause Hogwarts is bigger than any of us, of any of it's founders,
and it's going to be around long after we're gone.
Maybe we'll see our kids come here one day.
That's the thing about Hogwarts.
No matter how long you're away from it, there's always a way back. |
