 Terrorist scare on set of Goblet of Fire - Believed to be Al-Qaeda Summary:
Security has been stepped up on the set of the new Harry Potter movie after the studio where it is being shot received a chilling terror threat. Article:
Thanks to Wizardnews Quote: Leavesden Studio near London answered the menacing phone call last Friday (13AUG04), which warned of a brutal attack on the film's young stars. And insiders fear Al-Qaeda - the terrorist network responsible for the September 11 attacks - are behind the threat.
A studio source says, "The caller apparently said, 'It's payback time... this is for all you've done to our women and kids.'
"The film is being made by American company Warner Bros. so it sounds like it could have an Iraq or Al-Qaeda connection."
Police and dog handlers have been drafted in to patrol the perimeter fence and the number of security guards has been trebled. A police spokesman says, "We are responding with extra vigilance."

I am very suprised at this news. I am glad that the security is doubling up and being much heavier on the set. But, I don't understand why some one would try to stop the work from the movie. I hope this isn't so type of Hitler thing. Yet again this does remind me of the "Poltergist" but that was freaky. All I can say is that, I hope they keep their eye open and ready for anything.

That's why the U.S. and our strong allies like the U.K. and Australia are actually fighting these animals. They need to be taken out now with force, not with wimpy peace talks that they would never follow

you know what............ I never supported war, I still don't, but I know the war has already started and I can't do anything about it. So I just hope peace can be met, and be kept. IF ANYONE FINDS A MAGIC MUFFIN WISH FOR WORLD PEACE. lol.... if only that was so... I just don't see why people need to fight.

Oh no. I can't believe someone actually threatened the young stars of Harry Potter. Does this mean whoever it was made a direct threat towards Dan, Emma and Rupert. Come on how low can one get. If it's Americans you're mad at come after us not them. They are just kids and British not even Americans.
Who ever this person is he/she is a coward as are all terrorists. Instead of going after the ones who have acutally hurt them they feel justified in going after the innocent. They say it's in the name of religion or whatever and in reality they are fuled by nothing but anger and hatred and thats just wrong. I'm terribly sorry that my government has harmed your women and children in anyway but go after them not the innocent. Two wrongs never make a right no matter how you look at it. Who ever made the threat if your reading any of this learn forgiveness and love don't harden your heart it will only lead you to nothingness.

People always think there is a good reason for wars or "their cause" but in the end it all it does is harm. I hope the studio is successful in protesting the people on set. We can't really know for sure who made the threat but Islam isn't a violence religion, nor is Christainity. The people who practice those religions aren't perfect and they do become violence. Nationalism and egos run wars not faith, hope and love. It isn't the fault of the average believer of either religion for the hate but the extremists.

I agree with you all4oliverwood. I mean come on people. Stop pointing fingers. And i agree with Herm-own-ninny b/c im a Christian and i found that offensive too. Im just sorry what happened over there at filming and i hope no one will get hurt.... Just stupid people making threats. :ermsmile:

Hmm... Wrong number mabye LOL. Im sorry we shouldnt laugh but It's just that where in the world does crank calling come in.. just shocks me, it's just funny. The people on the set and studio should take extra precaution in the first place. No one can live in fear, but be strong knowing they are prepared and to only fear, fear, when it comes in that moment. " there is nothing to fear but fear it's self."

By the way..who ever did sent a stupid message like that on a freakin 'phone' , well I have only a few things to say. get a life, get a job and do somthing better with your time and stop pestering people and stop being so jeoulous of others, there is no use causing others pain when the only person you hurt is yourself, if u go and wallow in self pitty u fester in ur own juice and no one will know or care but you, do somethng better! get a pet or somthing.

Look at the fuss it's causing among us - a sinlge phone call! But because of the state of the world we're living in, there is no other way to react. This could be a very real threat and they're right to step up security.
