| | |  Stephen Fry nominated as Greatest Living British Icon
Stephen Fry, narrator of the British Harry Potter audiobooks, is one of the ten people nominated as Britain's greatest living cultural icon on the BBC2 program, "The Culture Show". The other nominees include playwright Alan Bennett, singers David Bowie and Kate Bush, actor Sir Michael Caine, Sir Paul McCartney, singer Morrissey, model Kate Moss and fashion designer Dame Vivienne Westwood. The criteria for nomination included being alive, being born or living in the UK, and having made an impact on British cultural life. Voting can be done online at the National Portrait Gallery. Voting begins on November 11 and continues through midday Novemver 27. The list of icons will then be narrowed down to three people, whose names will be announced on Saturday, December 2nd. Portraits of the top 3 will be exhibited in the National Gallery from the beginning of December. Votes may be cast for the winner from the 2-11 December, and the winner will be announced on Saturday, December 16. I find it strange that JK Rowling didn't make the list

Well, all those people nominated are real British icons. Jo's not yet an icon, as she hasn't been around for long enough. All those people are quint-essentially British you see, and are all great, especially Steven. I think he's great!
