"I found (as did many others) that the twins were kind of shy. They did not say a lot, but were very sweet. They were apparently stuck upstairs in their room a lot. They even had to leave the bar area where they were playing pool because of being underage. I felt bad for them."

"The atmosphere of the convention was very intimate and personal. Most people were staying at the hotel and you got to recognize everyone. For the intrepid HP fan, you had a chance at any moment to run into our beloved twins."

"On Saturday morning, I was out walking my two year old (yes like a puppy, she needs exercise), and I turned a corridor with her running in front of me. Just about twenty or so feet ahead were the Phelps twins and their escort. (The boys were required to have an escort every time they left their rooms on the 8th floor. I hear they found this quite annoying)."

"My daughter ran at them full speed. I wasn't sure if I could try to stop her or wait to see if she caused a collision. I was ready to die. Fortunately, they heard her coming and stopped to look. They all smiled and my child pointed at the boys, yelled something in two year old gibberish and ran way. They all laughed and I apologized profusely. The escort commented on how cute she is. Twins: *laugh*

Me: So, how come there aren’t any pictures of just you guys?

Twins: *more laughter* We don’t know.

Me: Well, I wanted one! I give you permission to cross those other guys out! (they didn’t – too bad)

Twins: laugh more and sign.

I thanked them very much and moved away."

"Later that evening was the cocktail hour. I noticed James and Oliver come in. They got themselves some cokes (they actually had to pay like the rest of us!) and mingled with the guests. At first they were talking to each other and the other stars, but then some fan girls got them and started getting photos. They were soon separated. My child decided at this moment to realize that the twins were from Harry Potter and started calling “A Paggy! A Paggy!” (translation: “It’s Harry! It’s Harry!” because in her mind all of them are)."

"So I risked asking Oliver first if I could get a picture of him with one of his smallest fans. He consented with a smile. I promised not to make him be in it alone with her (thus you saw that I am in the pic too) next we spotted James. We took the pic (my kid tried to get away, thus you can’t see her, plus James didn’t lean over like his brother did). I then had a polite little conversation with him. I asked him how long they would be in town (they are leaving right away to go home, and are then coming back to the states in September for Collectormania in Atlanta. Then they go back to England for more work on the film). Do you like Massachusetts (yes, very nice here. This was their first time visiting. Apparently, however, Tom Felton loves to visit the cape area). My boyfriend Stephen jumped in at this point (he’s a very funny individual ):

"The next morning and right before breakfast I had my last random meeting with the twins, it was very brief. My child (again!) wanted to go on the big elevators as opposed to the smaller one near our room, so we obliged. The doors of one of them opened. It was packed but, I could see James squashed in the corner looking claustrophobic (I assume Oliver was there too but I could not see him). I caught James’ eye and smiled sympathetically. Stephen quipped “No way!” Next elevator!” Everyone laughed except poor James who looked like he wanted off. I waved as the doors closed…"

"Random fan girl facts: I never realized just how cute they are! They are brunette, have lovely brown eyes, are quite tall 6 feet at least and had slim builds. I would say that it is becoming easier to tell them apart. While James’s face had softer features, Oliver was more angular. They always wore jeans and t-shirts with sneakers (Oliver had a tear on the right knee of the pair he wore at Q&A, I know because I kept looking at it). They are shy and soft spoken. What else?... I touched both of their arms *squee*."
