| | |  Spanish Half-Blood Prince title changed
We've been informed that the title for Half-Blood Prince, the film, in Spain, has been changed to be more in line with the translated book. Before it was Harry Potter y el Príncipe Mestizo, which translated to Half-Blood Prince, but now the film will be called Harry Potter y el Misterio del Príncipe (the Prince Mystery), which is the title of the Spanish sixth Harry Potter book.

That's quite silly. That'll make it harder for the Spanish to associate the book with the film.

In danish Harry Potter and the halfblood prince is called "Harry Potter og Halvblodsprinsen".

Hi!!! Let's see, I've read the book in English and Spanish, and the reason for the change of the title was that the pun didn't make a lot of sense in Spanish as it did in English with the you-know-who's surname (not Voldemort, I'm just trying to avoid spoilers  ). That's why the translator changed it for a quite good version of one of the meanings in English. The thing is that the translation ("Harry Potter y el Misterio del Príncipe" is HP & the Prince Mystery or HP & the Mystery of the Prince) is a (I think) very suitable way of expressing it without the title losing it's charm, because if it had been translated as "Príncipe mestizo" (Half-blood Prince) it would have only refeared to the fact that he is half-wizard, half-muggle but nothing to do with his surname. So "the mystery of the Prince", I think leaves way for both meanings but there's just no pun. Sometimes you have to do these things when you translate. I know it's a pity but...
