* Soundtrack makes Potter a wonderful experience - Summary:
Movie goers are commenting on the music of POA
Get the soundtrack HERE Article:
Thanks to Wizardnews Quote: The soundtrack has always been a prominent feature of the Harry Potter films. As this is the best loved book of the series for many fans, will the score and John Williams live up to our expectations? Read on.
The music in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban bases itself on three strong themes. All of them pop up in different styles from medieval to modern. Firstly, there is the familiar Hedwig's Theme, then a new and poignant one, A Window to the Past, which accompanies Lupin and Harry's first chat, and thirdly, the students jaunty Double Trouble, which you must all know by heart now!
Harry's magical world is still here in Azkaban, just darker and more dangerous, but there's fun too. After the slightly edgy opening titles, enjoy the The Knight Bus music for sheer wacky cool! Want to be chilled to the bone? Feel the temperature falling fast on the train as the dementor appears as an Apparition on the Train. Creepy? You bet!
With exciting set pieces like the Quidditch game, the music increases the tension, matching the thrills on the screen. There is a dramatic variation on Hedwig's Theme that ricochets dramatically around the cinema as Harry hurtles blindly over the Quidditch pitch, battling through the storm-filled sky with his fellow Gyffindors, unable to see the Dementors as they approach.
Much less threatening, and one of the most magical and exhilarating moments in the film, is Buckbeak and Harry's first flight, captured with some of that thrilling 'rushing wind in the face excitement' music John Williams does better than anyone. A real 'movie moment'!
And it's the dramatic moments you remember first isn't it? Like when Harry finally conjures his Patronus, propelling the Stag into the flock of grim Dementors that threaten Sirius, or the nerve wracking tension of Saving Buckbeak, as Harry and Hermione use the time turner, or the transformation of Lupin, where the drama on screen is mirrored in jagged music and strings that swirl in panic.
There is calm and stillness too, however. It's not all full speed throat-grabbing tension. Take Lupin's first talk with Harry, where a gentler more reflective element reveals itself, showing Lupin's compassionate character and perhaps referring to his past misfortunes. It also mirrors the terrific portrayal by David Thewlis.
The music strengthens the action, sticking closer to the plot line than ever before, and that, along with the massive amount of visual detail, makes Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban a thrilling cinema experience, and John Williams' music is a big part of it. With music and visuals like these, who in their right mind would want a pathetic pirate copy of a film that was meant for the big screen?
Oh, by the way, here's a tip for all of you about to go see the movie: Please stay put and enjoy the final credit sequence, someone had a lot of fun with it!* Wizardnews |

It definately gave the film a better feel than the first two, the composing was brilliant and I could tell too that it was done by John Williams because I noticed a part that reminded me a little of ET.
Buckbeaks flight was the best, it made me go all cold and goosebumpy - Superb!
