Omg, I almost had a heart attack when I couldn't get on SS, and when it let me on I almost had a heart attack! lol. And yes, it is running MUCH faster and things are loding quicker. I am really glad it is up again though. | |

Sadly, this week I'm on dial up, which sucks big time, so I'm happy the pages are loading faster.
It seems a lot of people are having trouble with SS on IE. I would say switch to Firefox. It's a whole lot better and I love it. | |

Every so often it needs to close when it comes across certain pages, although it's not a regular pattern. Some other members, like one in the FAQ are complaining that IE needs to close at certain specific pages like the GoF threads. | |

Strange.
It is pretty much impossible for me to fix that without knowing exactly what is causing it. I use IE myself (always have) and don't experience any such problems. Ever.
My guess is that it isn't an SS problem but an IE or even a computer problem (clashing with IE perhaps). Maybe even a firewall or anti-virus clash.
Next time it happens to you, please note which page it was and exactly what happened. (Did IE just close, or did you get a message first. What was the message? What was the URL to the page that caused it. Etc..) | |

With me it's not specific pages so URL's would probably be useless, my guess is it's my IE but someone complained in the FAQ that it repeatedly happened at the same thread, which sounds odd to me. There's always a emssage first though saying that IE needs to close, that you might lsoe what you're working on and that they apologise for the inconvenience. | |

Could it be one of the ads causing the problem? That might explain why some people experience it on random pages and not the same one every time (I know, for me, a lot of times the same page will have the same ad on it). | |
