Canadian fangirls, get out your scissors ... or better yet, jump in your cars.
Alan Rickman arrived, quite appropriately, by train in Canada's capital yesterday afternoon. Apparently, the charming actor will be dining with Canada's Governor-General, the representative of the Queen in Canada. Quote:

Alan Rickman, the British actor best known for his dark, sinister characters in blockbuster movies such as Die Hard, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and the Harry Potter series, rolled into Ottawa by rail yesterday to dine with Gov. Gen. Adrienne Clarkson at Rideau Hall.
It's a friendship that was forged in New York in 2002, when Mr. Rickman was starring in the Broadway play Private Lives and Madame Clarkson was a fan in the crowd. She asked to meet the actor after the performance and they've been pals ever since.

It was also previously reported that Mr. Rickman was shooting Snow Cake in Wawa, Ontario. Quote:

*pets* it's okay, we can't always be on the look-out for an HP star. That's totally awesome though, I live in Moline, IL and nothing, and I mean nothing, like that happens here can only hope it will. Bill Murray's Gran lives in IA though...................

I was in Toronto the same time he was, and spotted him from our tour bus (i went with my school orchestra). I tried to talk my conductor into stopping so I could meet him, but she wouldn't. GAH!!

Wow. *is suddenly considering a career in politics* Talk about lucky. I wish I could just ask to see an actor after a performance and actually have it happen. *dreams*
