A hardcore Sirius Black fan who claims they visited the ' Goblet of Fire' set is claiming that they found out that the character of Sirius Black will only be appearing in CGI form.
If this was true, it would possibly mean he would only be appearing as Padfoot and possibly as just a head in the fireplace scenes - which would also require CGI.
We'll let you know when we hear anything official on the matter but for now, this is to be treated, as always, as strictly a rumour.

Gary's prescence would be required for the CGI work for the fireplace scene which could technically mean this could still possibly be true. I don't imagine they'll be visiting Padfoot in Hogsmeade, there just isn't enough time in the films for that and I can't really think of anywhere else he'd be, in person, other than possibly the end when Harry is in the Hospital Wing. | |

yeah i thought he would turn up then but it wouldnt put it past kloves to have changed that after all there is no molly to hug and comfert harry when Sirius leaves...
i hope it isnt true because Gary oldman is a great actor and CGI Gary isnt the same as real gary | |

Yeah but other than the hug, I can't see where they'd fit him in amongst all the action. So long as Gary features LOADS in OoTP then I'll be happy. His role in GoF, though significant, is small and can be replaced by letters and other stuff. | |

If this would be true, then I'm guessing that his head would appear in the fireplace, or they would put him in the film as Padfoot but not based on the canon. Maybe they'll combine two situations in the film in one scene, or whatever they could think of.
Sometimes, the presence of a character in the film, either key or not, is not important to me, just as long as the filmakers give justice to the film.

I hope we get to see *him* and not just CGI.. it's not the same...

I like Gary Oldman, the more Gary Oldman in a movie the more I like the movie. He really is a good actor, I hope he comes out, even if its just a little scene, I hated that he wasn't more prominent in PoA...
They could just do a movie GoF: What Sirius was doing while he was away!
