* Simon Cowell isn't potty about Potter three - pop idol judge gives his verdict Summary:
Simon Cowell, pop idol and American idol judge and supposed music "expert" gives his opinion on the third Potter film. Article: Simon Cowell isn't potty about Potter three
In yesterday's 3am magazine, supplied with The Daily Mirror, the "Hangin' out with" section featured Simon Cowell discussing various things. He is somewhat famous for appearing on Pop Idol in the UK and American Idol in the US and is supposed to be a music guru. In the films part of the interview, he said the following about the third Potter film; Quote: "I went to see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban recently and hated it," says Simon. "It was the worst of the three Harry Potter films and, to me, it had lost its charm. There was a certain something about the first two but this one - excuse the pun - had definitely lost its magic." I personally think he should stick to what he thinks he's good at.

 Well I don't really care what he thinks and I'm sure JK doesn't either nor Alfonso after all they made this film for us the fans and I love it, I'm believing that other members on this site love it too. I do like Simon Cowell, he is good on Pop Idol 'cos of his very honest opinions, but really he isn't a film expert nor a HP expert so stick to the music Cowell, let others with more expertise in the film industry give the reviews in future...

Well, he isn't too thrilled about much anyway and this isn't his field, so his comment can't hold much credit...

he was terrible at choosing POP dol winners i mean in the first series he wanted Gareth Gates to win not Will Young Will won and is way more succsessfull than Gareth ever was.
last series he choose Michell Mcmanus look at the mess she is in already!
Cowel leave HP alone

I'd love to see the backlash he's going to get from HP fans.

I'd take him a whole lot more seriously if he didn't have such a flat-top hairstyle! That's so 80's!

I agree with him. This movie was the worst of the three. I hope that the new director brings back to feeling of the first two. PoA had some wonderful shots, but left so much out, didn't explain a lot, and, as Simon said, did 'lose it's magic.'

It is honesty though, I can see where he is coming from. The first two do have that certain magic, where you care about the characters and what happen. In the third one it is kind of lacking, it is more like an action movie. Also, he has just as much credit as any of us in a review. Come to think of it he actually has more since he is actually a critic of one type of entertainment (music).

He needs to have reasons for not liking the movie. You just can't say "I hated it." Well, why do you hate it? Just stick with music. I think we have enough film critics. "It lost its magic." is not a reason to hate it.

| Well, we all knew it was going to be different.....well those of us who looked up stuff about the movie online.....so we all still think that it was awesome and that Alfonso did a good job. Simon is entitled to his opinion. Most people I've talked to didn't like it as much as the other two, agreeing that it did "lose some of the magic" because it was so different. I'll agree that the lack of color severely seperates this movie from the other two, and that some things (the history of the Mauraders Map) should have been kept in the movie, but we knew that we were in for a whole new ballgame with the new director. Simon has a point (however wrong it may be... ) and a lot of people agree with him. Its no reason to condone one person for multiple opinions (even if he does get paid to say mean things...).

Obviously he is NOT a HP Fan... Everyperson that goes and sees the movie doesnt have to be a Harry Potter fan, and I know alot of Harry Potter Super Fans that had the same opinion. Thats all it is and just because he is some big music critic, people treat what he says like the word of God. I'm sorry but I don't find this news bc he is not the only person in the World that didnt like the movie.
