The Daily Record reports that J.K.Rowling has donated a rare signed first edition copy of ' Half-Blood Prince' after a fan, Breeze Gardner, wrote to her requesting help in raising money for a potentially life-saving ECG machine. Quote:
"JK must receive letters like that every day so I didn't expect to hear back. But when the parcel arrived, I knew immediately what it was. I'd love to keep the book but I'd rather help mum." said Breeze.
Lesley (her mum) said: "I'm proud of Breeze - she's an absolute star. This will make such a difference to the surgery."
The book will go under auction at McTears in Glasgow on December 16th and is expected to raise £6000. | |
