[img]http://www.snitchseeker.com/images/news/poa_ron_80.jpg' align='middle'> Scabbers now Rupert's real pet - Summary:
He got to take them home after filming Article:
Thanks to Wizardnews Quote: Two rats that were plucked from a German zoo to feature in the latest Harry Potter film, are not returning home.
The rodents were chosen from Berlin Zoo to play the part of Scabbers after a Europe-wide audition.
After German media revealed the rats were German, scores of Potter fans contacted the zoo asking when the rats would return.
But according to the daily Berliner Morgenpost, actor Rupert Grint got on so well with the rats, he was allowed to take them home after filming was finished.
Zoo keeper Mario Grueßer said: "The casting agents came to the zoo and looked at a number of rodents before picking two rats that looked similar enough to act as doubles."
He said the pair of rats were very lovable: "They can be very tame and are very sociable." Wizardnews |

In my opinion it would be gross to have a rat as a pet, but everyone has their preferences. I just don't like rodents much.

You know, that's really sweet. I was wondering about it, because in the 'Making of...' feature for 'Sorcerer's Stone', he almost always had the rat with him, and handled it as if it really was his pet and he was fond of it.

That is too funny. I 'm sure Rupert will be very happy with his rats. They definitely make very nice, intelligent pets.

I miss my rabbit "Bun Bun" she was a good rabbit. Rats are also very loving and sweet animals as long as you invite them in and they aren't from off the streets.
