In response to the release of Joshua Lodge, a friend of his who was caught committing a sex act with an underage girl at his eighteenth birthday party, Rupert Grint has stated he is "appalled and disgusted". Quote:
He said: "In the light of the verdict I feel it prevalent to issue the following statement.
"I am totally appalled and disgusted by the actions of Mr Joshua Lodge. I am one hundred per cent behind the victim in this case and indeed all victims affected by this type of crime."
The 19 year old was released with a caution and will have to sign onto the Sex Offenders' Register for two years. | |

that was exactly what i was about to ask. this isn't a rape case, is it? if the girl was willing or consious about it, then you can't put blame on the guy only, but the society as well. i'm not saying what he did was RIGHT, but we should take a look around before throwing accusations. | |

I'm not sure why Rupert had to publically announce that seeing as pretty much no one knows of it in the UK, but i can see he wouldn't want to be seen as a sex offender here, considering his position.
However, it's easy to notice no one has asked if she consented to this. Not that that would matter at all considering laws. Or how old she is. She's just 'underage'. | |

i think rupert was really smart in making a public statement about it so people knew his view of the situation.. it would have seemed awkaward if he just didnt mention it at all.. after all he is an adult.. thats terrible though that it was at his 18th birthday party.. tht is supposed to be really special..
