| | |  Rumour: No Quidditch in 'Order of the Phoenix'? - UPDATE
An Italian newspaper recently printed an article in which it was hinted that David Yates and Michael Goldenberg had decided to cut Quidditch from the fifth film.
Allegedly it was stated that the game wouldn't affect the rest of the plot and therefore could be cut.
Please remember to regard this as a rumour until we hear otherwise from WB.
Source: Harry Potter Fan Zone UPDATE: The Italian website that posted the original rumor is now stating that they have been in contact with someone who works on the OotP set and that this person told them that the set of the Quidditch Pitch is still in pieces at Leavesden Studios. However, their source won’t confirm or deny if there is going to be a quidditch scene in OotP. | |

Perhaps they just meant actual Quidditch games. I don't see the point in showing the Quidditch games themselves. However, if they mean the storylines surrounding Quidditch then I would be most annoyed because they seem to be including a lot of other things of less importance in the movie.

They can't possibly skip Quidditch, especially the scene where Umbridge chucks Harry, Fred, and George from the game and then bans them from the team altogether, giving Harry more skin-cutting detentions. Please just let this be a rumor!
They better not ommit the Twins' grand exit! It's an awesome scene, and it shows Umbridge at her wit's end.
