An Italian newspaper recently printed an article in which it was hinted that David Yates and Michael Goldenberg had decided to cut Quidditch from the fifth film.

Allegedly it was stated that the game wouldn't affect the rest of the plot and therefore could be cut.

Please remember to regard this as a rumour until we hear otherwise from WB.

UPDATE: The Italian website that posted the original rumor is now stating that they have been in contact with someone who works on the OotP set and that this person told them that the set of the Quidditch Pitch is still in pieces at Leavesden Studios. However, their source won’t confirm or deny if there is going to be a quidditch scene in OotP.

Oh For the Love of God Please Let it be Just a Rumour!

Let Ron Weasley Be Our king

Let the Slytherines Show of there singing talent

Let the Angelina have her moment

And Please Let us see Harry punch Draco

It's really just a rumour.

How could David Yates delete that scene? That's an importaant scene! I want to see how Ron practise his keeper skill... and how malfoy say Weasley our king.... I summerly hope that Yates not delete that scene... I hope that's only a rubbish rumour....

I hope it's a rumor! They can't skip Draco scenes, Quidditch, and Ron flying crappily!!!! Oh, how I will die if it's true! Plus, that'd be cutting scenes from the (already small) roles of Fred and George! Eek, WB better say it's a rumor!
