| | | Rumor: Book six title on JKR Site - Summary:
Harry Potter and the Pillar of Storgé? Article: Rumor: Book six title on JKR Site Firstly, the most important thing to stress is that this is and will remain rumor until someone from Bloomsbury/Scholastic or a representative of JK's confirms or denies the book claims. Quote: The rumor goes thus: a fan was fiddling with JKR's site and wrenched open the locked door with the "Do Not Disturb" sign, somehow. And instead of the book with the Latin placeholder text, as usual, the book had a short missive from JKR about the writing of Book Six, as well as the title of the upcoming tome. A video has been circulating showing the book opening, though the text is not visible there - it is only in an email that has also been circulating. You can read the text that's been circulating by clicking the link below - beware possible spoilers.
While this is certainly a convincing bit of writing that sounds very JKR-esque, and the video is pretty good proof, there really is no confirmation yet, we cannot stress that enough. I don't put it past certain fans to be having a little joke - no more than I put it past JKR to be having a little joke on her hacker fans. The lack of any site address at which this was found is a bit of an interesting omission.
The entry is dated July 1, which goes with the roughly monthly updates we've come to expect from JKR.com.
We'll let you know something as soon as we can.* Below is the text that's been circulating: Quote: The following text is being circulated as written in a hidden section of JKRowling.com:
Erm… it is perhaps time for me to reveal the title of Book 6! I am nearing completion of the first draft and have definitely decided upon a title. I had numerous possibilities in mind, but as I wrote, I realized that only one did the book justice.*
The more clever Potter fans may recognize that the title relates directly to both 'Order of the Phoenix' and 'Chamber of Secrets.' I will be highly amused if one of you can guess exactly what's going on!
On a side note, the length of the book is growing so fast, I could swear Filius has put anEngorgement Charm on it; an editor's nightmare! I promised myself not to exceed the length of 'Order of the Phoenix,' but every day that passes
makes that undertaking more difficult. Incidentally, I have much more work ahead.
Alas, the time has come! Here is the reward for you lot that so diligently figured out all the puzzles on the site. If you scroll down to the bottom of this page, I will reveal to you the title of Book 6!
...
The title of Book 6 is: Harry Potter and the Pillar of Storgé. Mugglenet has posted the video here.
A cleaned up version can be seen here.
For reference:
- Storgé is pronounced Stor-gee.
- We had the book 5 title more than a year before its release.
- Storgé is Greek for 'parental love'.
With hindsight, the name of the book, whether real or fake, does sound like it could be connected with the elusive graveyard that's at Hogwarts, that JK and Alfonso have mentioned in passing. Quote: *Storgé is one of the four Greek types of love. It is "Family Love," between parents and children, but also among close relatives. The other types of love are Agápe (unselfish, unconditional love), Philía Love (platonic love), and Éros (love that accompanies physical attraction).
*This title, if accurate, relates directly to Chamber of Secrets and Order of the Phoenix. These are the only two books of the five that include the word "pillar" at least once.
*Total number of times the word "pillar" is mentioned in the first five Harry Potter books: 11. For the passages in Chamber of Secrets and Order of the Phoenix that mention the word "pillar", click here.

Believe me Feli, you and twenty five others submitted this. I tried my best to bring together what everyone had and put it in one article.
I dont think it's true though, I reckon it might be her just pulling our leg again.
If you have anything that isn't in there, edit it in at the end before the source links |

Someone defenetly did their homework if this is fake, I wouldn't mind this being real, it is a very 'HP' type name. Although, I would have thought she would wait until atleast the end of the first draft to get the name!

I really love the concept of family love. Maybe the pillar is dedicated to those who died for the Voldemort cause. I dunno. Jo and Alfonso said a graveyard at hogwarts comes up in the next two books and if this is true, it seems an ideal place where the pillar might be.

And also, the names of books four and five aren't really crucial to the plot... "The Order of the Phoenix" - that wasn't the main happening in Book Five. "The Goblet of Fire" - the goblet itself played only a small part in Book Four. So maybe the Pillar of Storge plays only a small part in Book Six...

The order was stopped Voldemort from gaining the prophecy and who are working forever against him and the goblet was what allowed Voldemort to gain hold of Harry for his reincarnation. They're crucial to the plot and how it folds out.
I am starting to get a good feeling about it being a memorial or something. Oooh goosebumps!!

Wow, all the information with it seems to point strongly to it being true. And all your ideas Emma seem really good.
Plus she did say that the site was for releasing facts for the fans first. I think the title would be given out in that way. We only have to wait for it to be confirmed or denyed.
It does make sense with the Pillar of family love. I'm sure I heard that this book was to be on the theme of love and will also look at the Muggleborn/mudblood discrimination again, ooh I'm so excited now. Maybe in the graveyard thing we find out something about someone's past or blood? *is totally running off with random ideas* Quote: and she's never used any foreign words in the titles before.. I guess that's true... we'll have to see.

Hey man, you never know. Honestly, when I read it, the only thing that sounds off-color is the fact that she started it all off with the word, "erm..."
That makes her sound like she's uncertain with herself, or not terribly confident that she should be telling us the title.
But it's all written in a JKR style, and if it's not her, then it took someone fairly intelligent to come up with such a title.

I really do hope that this is true.
In an interview in the Chamber of Secrets movie, JKR mentions that there is something inside the chamber that will be very important in the sixth book. Maybe the "pillar" is located in the Chamber.

My bet is that at the very least, the top part was written by her. Likely the title as well, but I can't be sure.
I don't like having a title that I cant pronounce without going to a dictionary. But it's cool now that we've had it exlained.
