J.K.Rowling has updated her website; specifically the news section, the diary and the extra stuff area.
In the news, Jo tells us she's still busy writing book 7, which at the moment doesn't have a title as she is still deciding between two potential names. Quote:
The heightened security restrictions on the airlines in August made the journey back from New York interesting, as I refused to be parted from the manuscript of book seven (a large part of it is handwritten, and there was no copy of anything I had done while in the US). They let me take it on, thankfully, bound up in elastic bands. I don't know what I would have done if they hadn't; sailed home, probably.
I am currently trying to decide between two possible titles. I was quite happy with one of them until the other one struck me while I was taking a shower in New York. They would both be appropriate, so I think I'll have to wait until I'm further into the book to decide which one works best.
In her diary, Jo apologises for not updating lately (she's been busy writing a book, you see) and briefly makes a mention about her recent trip to New York.
In the extra stuff section she notes a question that has never been put to her by fans, but one she expected them to ask. Quote:
Why did Dumbledore have James' invisibility cloak at the time of James' death, given that Dumbledore could make himself invisible without a cloak?
Prior to posting this I had a quick look on-line, and realised that some fans have been speculating about this question. However, nobody has ever asked me about it, and they really should have done. Just to allay the fears of the justifiably suspicious, this isn't what we in the know call 'a Mark Evans situation.'* There IS a significant - even crucial - answer.

Well, I know it must be difficult to think up a suitable title. In fact, I'm surprised she's only considering two names. If it had been me, I would probably have drawn up whole lists of dozens of names .... Which is probably one of the reasons why she's T3h Jo, and I'm not.  Anyway, I hope she decides soon. I don't want the series to end, but I really want to read more Potter-ish adventures .... *nod-nod*
As for the Invisibility cloak, I have thought of that before, but never really paid that much attention to the query. Well, we'll just have to wait and see what the answer is! I can't really think up of anything that strikes me as a "perfect" answer or theory. *glomps Jo* We're waiting .....

Thas cool news. Ya security is tight at airports my dad works for one and tells me all the time about the security. That would have suck if she couldn't take them on with her what if they got lost. that would suck

I think he had the cloak cuz James asked him to pass it down to Sirius and then Sirius gave it to Harry. That's what I thought cuz it was mentioned in the 1st movie...

Wow, well its understandable about the tightened security at the airports but they must have realised it was JK Rowling and that she would obviously be carrying the manuscript.
As for the cloak, I did think about it before but never considered it being crucial, I always just assumed it was like when Podmore borrowed Moody's good invisibility cloak in OOTP but apparantly not. I reckon that Dumbledore was at Godric's Hollow on the night of Lily and James's deaths as JK Rowling wouldn't answer directly when asked was anyone else at godric's hollow that night?
